Liked everything about the meals here. And wine too - for those who like red wine would recommend the Wyntham Estate Bin 888 red wine. Fab - and the cod and chips delicious.

Had lunch with my better half while out in Bangor and decided to try Salty Dog as it was close to where we had parked. First it is a nice bar/ restaurant and the chef is talented.
We chose the specials this time of Cream of Cauliflower soup and wheaten bread,Tasty and enjoyed but a little bit of Stilton crumbled on top would lifted this dish from a 6/10 to an 8/10.
Mains of Brill with Tapenade crust chirizo risotto and asparagus,as the ingredients suggest good quality and really enjoyed but £19 for a lunch special is a bit steep, 2 soft drinks and starter and mains at a cost of £54 is an expensive lunch in this day an age.

My son and I were taking a walk along the coast while waiting to visit my husband in the Ulster Hospital that evening. We needed a meal before our trek back to Fermanagh and by chance came across The Salty Dog where we were given a very warm welcome. Our meal far exceeded our expectations and we have already booked to stay for a night soon.

We decided to try out the Salty Dog as we'd heard good reports about it - especially for the desserts. Our night out together was very, very enjoyable. Attentive staff and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere ensured it was a good night. The food was ok - my choices for starter and main course were a little on the small side but that just left me with more room for dessert! Almond tart with Pistaccio ice cream did it for me, but the home made raspberry sorbet topped it! I recommend the Salty Dog.
