We booked this chalet for a weekend break as the price was within our budget and in the location we wanted. On arrival, the Chalet we felt looked a little dishevelled as the surrounding grass area was overgrown and in need of a good weed. The doors and windows of the chalet could have done with a good clean and so appearance wise, not the welcoming look of the picture. The inside again was a bit tired and in need of good deep clean. The main blind in the bedroom failed to work and the curtains could have been better in the living area. We struggled to find the information and 'Welcome' folder but located it hidden amongst the good array of board games. More info could have been included regards where to put the rubbish as no indication so had to actually follow someone carrying some rubbish bags to identify the bin location.
The chalet is set in a lovely location but reached from a very steep hill. The sign to the site is not very visible from the road so you may well miss the turn and have to turn around. This could be improved upon. It is a short drive to Aberdovey which is a lovely sea side town with an absolutely gorgeous sandy beach.
There is a sign post on the site marked 'Dog Walk' so after a further bit of investigation and asking someone, it appears this takes you over some fields and paths to stunning views of the beach and mountains. This is true and was a highlight of my weekend with stunning views and sounds of the sheep and birds with no other persons around. A complete joy. Apparently Aberdovey can be reached via this way but never would have known this. A passing man happened to tell us. Perhaps some more information in the Welcome pack regarding this would be helpful.
As outlined beforehand, the site has a private water supply so the water runs brown and not safe to drink unless boiled. We bought bottled water so used that for drinks as didn't want to risk even drinking the boiled water. We also took some home utensils just in case insufficient available and regret we left 2 good saucepans and a sieve behind which annoyed me just a little as we have had to replace.
So to sum up, this is a lovely location for a reasonably priced chalet but with a little TLC and maintenance from the owners, and more information available for guests, I would definitely recommend for a short break.
