Maesywerngoch is a thoroughly relaxing and spacious home in an idyllic setting. It is secluded but all the comforts you require- space to chill, relax, socialise, snuggle and indulge. Be prepared for an adventurous road trip to get there and then gasp at the location, the quiet, the views and the garden. Keep it a secret. Even the dog has sworn not to tell. If you can drag your self away the local area offers much to see, do and eat.
We were a party of 12 friends from Germany and England and spent our yearly summer holiday together at Maesywerngoch. We also had a dog with us and he absolutely loved the spacious house and gardens.
We really enjoyed our stay at the wonderful house in a lovely location. The gardens are more like parks and you can wander off into the forest in all directions.
There are plenty of sights in the area. We went to the nice beaches at Harlech and Aberdovey. We had a nice time at Machynlleth market, went on a nice day trip to Aberystwyth, a wonderful Sunday Lunch at the Riverside Hotel and we explored the nearby footpaths in the house surroundings. Wherever we spent our days (sometimes in busy places), it always felt really nice to come back to the house and enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere
The house is situated up a 3 mile loggers track and you really feel like you are getting away from it all. We were celebrating a 40th birthday with a number of generations of the family and did not feel that we had to keep quiet as the nearest neighbour is miles away. The house is truly stunning and a lot of thought has gone into making the house a real treat to stay in. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and the landscaped gardens are extensive and beautiful to walk and play in . The kids loved all the waterfalls and places to hide as did our dog!
Aberdyfi, Barmouth and mountain walking is within an easy drive from the house and there is also a fantastic restaurant in the nearby village.
We were a party of 9 (4 adults and 5 children from 2-16 years old). House was great and a massive size that meant everyone had room. We never even used one of the living rooms! Gardens are also fab and one day we just stayed at the house and explored them and the surrounding forest.
Susan was very helpful in terms of logistics and booking. No negatives about the house, though it is well off the road and in to the woods which suited us fine. We could not see any other buildings or signs of life at all.
Note, none of us had any cell cover on any of our different carriers (which was not really a problem). Wifi is in the house but is only 2.5MB which is good enough for emails and basic browsing. We arranged a home delivery with Asda but they could not find the house so we ended up meeting them back in the town and picking up the shopping in the train station car park!
12 of us spent a lovely 3 days at Maeswernygoch, to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday. In the run up to our stay, Susan was hugely helpful - full of tips, advice and guidance.
Maeswernygoch was a fabulous facility with every convenience available and all of the highest quality and specification.
The grounds were fabulous and the 4 children loved playing in them.
Would definitely reiterate the need to stock up on food if considering a stay there as you really are off the beaten track with the nearest shopping area being 5 miles away.
We enjoyed a few days out, in Aberdyfi, at the beach there. Perfect on a sunny day and not too far away.
Midges were a total nightmare despite use of repellents, lotions and potions. Pretty much put paid to sitting outside at night; apparently the worst 'case' of them in years.
All in all tho, a great place where we've created an album of happy family memories
I organised a Hen weekend here for 10 girls, and it was perfect!
The location is a little tricky to find, but the adventure just added to the excitement.
I came in by train and taxi, and the girls came by car - both ways are really easy.
The house is spacious, comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxed holiday. The setting is gloriously secluded - no-one could overhear us laughing outrageously into the early hours!
The location is very convenient for Snowdonia and the various activities and destinations available in Wales. We visited Surf Snowdonia and Bounce Below, which worked out perfectly to fill one day.
I highly recommend for a group or family getaway.
One tip - the nearest shop is a little way away by car - make sure you don't forget to pick up anything on the way in!
Thank you Susan and Nicholas for helping create a lovely weekend surprise for the bride!
I went here with my children and their children. My brother and his son. We had a fantastic 3 days everything we needed for fun was included. We had indoor games and outdoor games. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all fantastic. The land was so beautiful we didn't get to explore half of it. We are all wanting to go back next year. If I could give it more than 5 I would.
