“Cosy pub and good food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Came here for some dinner and the food was reasonably priced and good quality.
Went back this time for drinks only and there is a lively atmosphere in the main bar, lot's of locals methinks which is a great thing!

We always joke about the people who sit outside on the top balcony, who are they and how did they get there?! Will be exploring that option at a future opportunity!

Spent 1 night at the britannia inn in aberdovey, had a perfect room overlooking the estuary, the room was exceptionally clean and cosy and had all the facilities you could need. Ate in the restaurant on saturday evening. Food was incredible 'especially the mushroom starter', staff and service excellent, polite, friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. A very good atmosphere on the evening. I would highly recommend the Britannia to anyone who is visiting Aberdovey and will definately be visiting again!

Room Tip: Room 1 has the best view as it faces the front of the hotel. The shower is excellent - I want one!

Stayed for the weekend 1st till 3rd march for our anniversary in the superior bedroom. Room is fantastic as is the service, very clean tidy. The view out of the window is absolutely fantastic overlooking the estuary. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is also very good although a little limited. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend it. We would definatley revisit.

Despite booking a table, we waited an hour for our food to arrive, and when it did our two steaks were burnt to a cinder. They were so hard you could hardly bite into it. The member of staff stated thgat the wait was due to a large prty being served upstairs. This could have been communicated to us at time of booking. The fact that the food was so poor after such a long wait just added insult to injury. Have eaten here many times in the past, but will not be doing so again. If you charge restaurant prices, I expect restaurant quality and experience.

A great pub and very fine restaurant ehere we had a great meal and the staff were friendly as well as other diners............ we had a great night. Our room was in front overlooking the estuary, was a loverly view , but I think the other rooms were not so good for a view. The room was comfortable and well appointed with modern bathroom and comfortable bed. Staircase to the top floor was narrow and hard to navigate with suitcases Parking, however, was a problem and I suggest you get there early as you have to park in the buisy street. Met other people on our travels who had similar experiences.

Room Tip: Ask for a front room looking over the estuary and book early to get it

This was an ideal place for us to stay, and if you like a traditional pub with real ales and impromptu music night, then go upstairs where you find a lovely restaurant overlooking the estuary with a great menu and very tasty food, we stayed in room 1 which is above the restaurant and again overlooking the estuary. This room was furnished to a high standard and I would class it 3-4 star.
The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite was finished to 5 star standard.
I would happily give this Inn 10/10 as I cannot fault the facilities or the service offered from the fine staff. Will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: We stayed in room one but the view aside if the others are as good I wouldn't worry about stayin...

I stayed at the Brittania Inn on 23rd and 24th February 2012 with my wife.
We booked the room with a view, it lived up to expectations, it was clean, modern and the view is as good as can be found anywhere in Aberdovey.
As a regular visitor to Aberdovey in the past, although now exiled to the Isle of Wight, I still think it is worth the long journey, the Brittania Inn provides a fantastic place to base yourself for visiting the area.
The evening meals were plentiful (Rib eye steak) and delicious, the breakfast in the morning was beautifully cooked and the lady who served us was a delight, in fact all the staff were great.
Probably my favourite Inn located in my favourite place in Wales.
I will return in spring 2013.
