“Excellent food & attentive staff”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Lovely dinner here on Saturday night- great, reasonably-priced menu with great choice of meat/fish and vegetarian options. Fish was lovely! Restaurant was packed which meant it was also quite noisy, especially with a few tables of 6, but it did not detract from the great food and attentive, friendly staff. Would definitely go back when next in the area.

What a find!! Had a fantastic evening with friends. A plentiful menu, the food was beautifuly presented, piping hot and a joy to eat. The service was excellent and the little extras very much appreciated. We had a great evening and will definitely be back next time we are in Aberdovey.

We have dined here several times now and have not been disappointed once. The menu is varied, interesting and innovational, using local ingredients and the quality of the cooking is extremely good. The service is friendly and polite without being intrusive. Don't be put off by the unprepossessing exterior, inside the ambience is modern but cosy and charming.

Stayed for 2 nights in September, very nice room, top floor, which meant fantastic views over the sea, but meant 3 flights of stairs to get there. No problem with that, the room was just a little small to get my first five stars. Very good service from staff who obviously cared, very clean, good bathroom, just shower, but that's all we wanted. Lots of Sunshine helped, but would recommend this to everyone. Just make sure you eat in their Restaurant, cos that's fantastic

Room Tip: All but 1 room have Sea views, make sure you get one.

We stayed here for 1 night in one of the seafront rooms on the top floor. On arrival the young girl who welcomed us was very polite and helpful. The room was clean and well furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the bay is lovely (very easy to ignore the car park between the hotel and the beach) they even provided a pair of binoculars for the view. On a negative note - the towels had seen better days! There was a good choice for breakfast, all freshly cooked - all in all a very good place to stay. If you stay here then you must have an evening meal in their excellent restaurant (see separate review). We hope to return very soon.

Room Tip: If you have a problem with climbing stairs then this might not be the bed and breakfast for you. All...

Having booked this for a birthday celebration out of the 'Great Little Places' brochure and on the basis of so many good reviews- I'm sorry, but it didn't live up to expectations.
It took ages to find someone to give us a key and the entrance hall/stairway is very tired looking. The fire door to our room needed a rugby tackle to open it and, once inside, we were underwhelmed:- a broken blind and curtains that don't draw across the windows and a sea-view that looked across a packed car park. On the plus side the bed was large, clean and comfortable.
Dinner was mixed, a disappointing fish soup which was overpowered by chorizo and a brick of couscous you could build houses with. The duck and sea bass were delicious as was the chocolate cake with ice cream. Breakfast was a functional affair.

We ate here on Friday 24th August for the start of our Bank Holiday weekend break and what a treat. Lots of wonderful fish and local produce on the menu cooked very well. My husband commented that his main fish dish was equally as good as the food at Rick Steins in Padstow! Friendly attentive staff in a relaxed atmosphere and the décor is smart seaside retreat, perfect. The final bill after 3 courses each plus coffees, a bottle of wine and beer we felt was reasonable at around £90. We have a camper van so haven't stayed here but if dinner is anything to go by we would love to stay another time and sample breakfast. Thank you Seabreeze for a great evening.
