Description: Casa del Mar opened in January 2006 and is part of the Krimo's group of restaurants, the first of which opened in Seaton Carew on 4th May 1985. The Tapas Restaurant, located on Navigation Point, overlooks Hartlepool's popular Marina. Casa del Mar mixes Spanish, Mexican and North African cuisines to serve a delicious combination of Tapas, Fajitas as well as Large Dishes. Various Cocktails are on offer alongside Spanish draft and bottled beers. The delicious Sangria rivals that served in Spain, we are told.

Food was nice, very tasty although a little expensive. Food choice somewhat limited and cramped table and chairs area.
Better restaurants available at less cost.
Another Krimos

Went to this restaurant for the first time on my birthday, was a bit wary as never done tatas so didnt have much idea of what to do, as soon as i walked in the door i was made to feel very welcome, was shown straight to a table and helped to sit, the waitress came over and first thing she asked was had we had tapas before, told her no so she proceded to tell us all about it and how to order, even explained the different rose' wines to us, we made our choice and ordered the wine we chose with her help was very nice, she left us to choose our meal and came back for our order once we waved her over so no pressure, when the food arrived it was all nicely presented, we settled down to our meal and to say the food was gorgeous would be an understatement it was 1 of the best meals i have had in a long time, once we finished the table was cleared and we were left to relax and enjoy rest of our wine, bill came once we requested so never felt pressured to rush all in all a great night fantastic meal and staff thats an asset to any buisness would recommend to anyone lovely eating experience

We went with friends for a post New Year meal. They had been before and had a great experience. I was impressed with the menu straight away. The mix of vegetarian and non veggie tapas and other options was excellent. The service was also excellent. The drinks order came quickly and the order was via a tick list menu. That too came quickly and the food was of a very high quality. The only negative comment would be that you can't book for less than eight so on a weekend we had to wait a while for a table. Be aware of that...also if you don't like noise...it's not a quiet restuarant but that suited our mood!

Not to be overly harsh to casa del mar but it has lost a touch of its glory. The service is excellent as always but the food is a touch predictable, there doesn't seem to be a seasonal change of menu or special tapas. I can pick what I want from the menu before going. The cocktail bar was once excellent however now they are overly priced and nothing special. They used to be decorated and presented with finesse but now they are just thrown together. The majority of food is of a good quality but some dishes were undercooked or lacked flavour. I did mention this to the servers but they didn't seem to care. It is still a nice enough place to eat but in my opinion it is on the decline.

They need to bring back the Spanish music instead of the stuff they play now.
