We went for a late lunch and the specials proved to be delicious. We really enjoyed the visit and the food was made to order and could not be faulted. The service was quick and helpful.
The views out to sea are fabulous and made the meal. There are a lot of stairs to access the seating but nothing to horrendous. The kitchen areas is open so you can see the staff prepare the food. Spotlessly clean.
They are now starting to serve tea time meals so we will return. Would highly recommend.
The place is an old converted church and full of atmosphere. Much better inside than out.

Fantastic Christmas Day lunch, great food, excellent staff. The service was superb we were not rushed at all. The staff were patient with the young children and with the older children. Food was amazing. This experience really helped our enjoyment of Christmas Day. Many thanks to all the staff for a great meal.

Well worth seeking out in this quirky and historically interesting corner of Hartlepool. Unique building with nice ambience and impressive views across Hartlepool Bay (binoculars provided for guests!). Friendly staff, nicely cooked food, even though the menu's a little limited.

We had our wedding reception here. It's the most beautiful location, looking over the bay and, indeed a gorgeous and atmospheric building. All the staff were most helpful and friendly, and a special mention is deserved for Tracey, the manageress, who couldn't have done more to organise the event and make it a lovely day. We had a hot and cold buffet which, all agreed, was delicious--and all at a very reasonable price. We would definitely recommend The Mary Rowntree and would choose it for any further occasions.
