“A real pleasure every time we visit”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

Whether you just pop in for a cup of tea and a teacake, or try their very good value two-course lunches you will not be disappointed. Always a bustling atmosphere, very attentive and cheerful waiting staff and very good quality food. The pasta is especially good! I really enjoy the background music, often nicely jazzy. If you are coming to Frinton-on-Sea this is one not to miss.

“Really good”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Everything about this cafe is excellent. We only went in by accident, because it was near the sea. The food was delicious and they even serve pancakes with maple syrup and bacon for breakfast. The staff were cheerful and pleasant in spite of being rushed sometimes.

“Suits all sorts”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

A varied menu from soups to steaks, sandwiches to fish and chips. Suitable for all ages, inside seating and terrace seating for sunny days and warm evenings. Staff efficient and eager to pease. Food freshly prepared. Advise booking in advance, otherwise join the queue! Very popular with locals, day trippers and holidaymakers.

“Fantastic - will be back”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Very child friendly and kids menu was very good.... grown up pizzas looked amazing... that said, I really enjoyed the ham egg + chips [classy !] and Mrs G thought the THai Green curry was good too.

Annabel [aged 3] thought the pizza was the best ever and Peter [aged 1] didn't say much, he just ate some of everything.

Whilst not the cheapest, I thought it was good value.

“Breakfast fine but relatively expensive given portion size”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

The cafe is smart, very popular and adequately staffed although tables are a little close together for me.

Full English Breakfast (£6.50) was a fried egg, Cumberland sausage (good quality), small rasher of back bacon; 3 small mushrooms (microwaved? they were not at all hot though), half a tomato, couple of tablespoons of baked beans and a hash brown triangle about 5cm x 5cm. A roll and butter were provided as a side order. To have scrambled egg is an additional 80p - something we only found out about at the end, although the waitress was adamant she mentioned it.

The loo seat fixing was broken.

I have had as good cheaper, and would have expected larger portions for the price. I will try somewhere else next time, and perhaps with a homelier feel.
