“Local gem, local yummy food”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Friendly local gastro pub with good atmosphere. Has a lovely menu and food is local.
Service was very good and even included a description of the beer from the waitress! (Though they did forget my steak sauce on the side).
Pork pie and olives appetiser were delicious. The steak, pork ribs and belly of pork were also very good, though the latter a bit small in my opinion. Our steaks were very good though cooked medium not medium rare as ordered. Wine and beer were excellent and a good range at reasonable prices.
Desserts were a disappointment - lacking in flavour despite the enticing, yummy descriptions. Overall this gem needs a bit of polish but is definitely worth returning to.

“My favourite”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Lovely setting, fabulous local ale, good wine list, friendly staff and, above all, fantastically cooked local, seasonal food. You wouldn't like it.

“Great food, great beer”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

I have eaten here several times and each time gets better. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and the menu includes many locally sourced items. The service is friendly without being intrusive. The menu is quite small but includes a lot of unusual and interesting dishes. The Westerham Ales are spectacular, especially the pub's own brew, "George's Marvellous Medicine"! Try to get someone else to drive so you can enjoy enough of it. The surroundings are delightful, with a true British pub atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

“Lovely place for a special lunch”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Went to the George & Dragon for a family lunch on a Saturday. Good parking and nice looking garden. Lovely decor and a friendly welcome from all staff. Staff very smart dressed and knowledgable.

Good selection of local ale and great wine list. Only had a main, the duck which was lovey. All the dinners looked and tasted great but were on the small side for the price. We were offered a side of new potatoes but didn't want to pay any extra as the main was already a steep £16.95. Puddings lovely and were enjoyed by all.

Good place for a special lunch or dinner as menu is very good. They also had lighter lunch menus and the burger looked great.

Will be back, maybe on payday.......
