“Very welcoming, classic country pub”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the White Rock Inn this weekent with four visitors to Kent. Our guests commented on the charm of the pub and its lovely location. We all enjoyed the delicious Sunday roast and traditional starters. We will definitely be back. (The warm welcome our 7-month-old baby received was much appreciated too.)

“Disappointing”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

The inn itself is lovely and inviting with friendly staff, however the food is of a very low standard and expensive for its quality. The chips are frozen, very poor and taste extremely cheap, the burger I had was also of a very low poor quality. I didn't eat my meal which was evident to the server clearing away our plates, the plates were just taken away with no comment regarding the uneaten food. At no point during our meal or when paying did anyone ask if everything was ok, very disappointing no one clearly cares. Just short of £50 for a starter, main course and drinks - very expensive taking in to account the poor quality. A shame really and definitely not inspiring for a return visit or recommendation. Very poor!!!

“Lovely sunny lunch”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

We decided to pop out for a pub lunch as it was a gorgeous afternoon, and sat out in the garden, sharing several 'light bites', some whitebait, barbeque chicken wings, half a pint of prawns and some cheesy chips. Everything tasted fresh and was beautifully presented, and the landlord was very welcoming and friendly. Now have signed up for the charity quiz night and only wish we lived within walking distance.....

“An Ideal Pub/Restaurant”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Can the best pubs be described as having warm beer, average food, rude staff and grumpy customers? If so the White Rock at Underriver fails in almost every category!! We have spent several pleasant evenings and enjoyable lunchtimes at this establishment where there is usually a very good atmosphere engendered by the friendly and helpful staff. We have never found the food to be anything other than very good with a reasonable variety and ample portions. The set menus are excellent value. A pub/restaurant to be recommended.

“Wonderful and reliable”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

We have lived in the area 18 years and can truthfully say this is the only restaurant that has been consistently high quality every time we go, which is every month or so.

Owner is very open to suggestions - if you want to eat 2 starter and no mains that's fine. We have even discussed an English Mezze but not got around to it yet. We will.

I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Since we are in Kent, I would like to see more English wine on the list though.
