Description: Valentina's Sevenoaks restaurant is the newest addition to this charming family of Italian deli restaurants. As well as a hugely well stocked delicatessen and a range of over 200 wines, the Sevenoaks branch also has a bustling 50 cover restaurant. The family run group has been satisfying southwest London locals from its Putney branch since 1991 and customers south of the M25 are already doling out rave reviews for the Sevenoaks branch. Enticing window displays, capable and friendly service as well as a classic Italian menu, reasonable prices and authentic Italian coffee all garner praise. Dishes like Capella Romana (tagliatelle with Nonna's meatballs, wrapped in speck and oven baked, served with a bolognese sauce) utilize tried and tested family recipes and quality produce. Wherever possible, ingredients here change with the seasons, and egg pasta is made fresh on the premises daily. Slightly less Italian but no less beloved, breakfasts of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon are also very popular.

We've been here a few times, both as a couple and with friends. It's a proper Italian restaurant with authentic dishes and friendly service. It's slightly more expensive than the usual chains but worth it for the freshness of the flavours. Some might feel more comfortable with the standardised, homogenised fare at the chains but for those who like something less predictable this fits the bill.

This is a nice place with friendly staff. I'd say it's better for lunch than dinner. Had a very good traditionally Italian pizza. Will be going back soon.

My husband and I came here on a Monday and were both pleased we did.

One starter of some mussels in a very tasty sauce; two pasta mains, a side of tasty rosemary potatoes, all delicious and one very nice vanilla icecream with espresso, washed down with a bottle of water - around 40 quid - and a much appreciated free Lemoncello!

We both really liked the ambiance and friendly staff. Deco great too, plenty to look at.

Loos spotless, which always speaks volumes.

The added bonus was the most superb deli/shop attached to the restaurant. If I had been on top form that day I could have been in heaven and joy of joy they stock Amarena Fabbri cherries in the beautiful blue and white iconic jar, which I did have to buy.

Disappointed: reputed to be a 'fine dinning' venue, this restaurant ranks for me no better than the usual Italian chains, and in some ways I prefer them. We ate on a Saturday evening with some guests from France who we wanted to impress and we left frankly embarrassed. Our waitress behaved as though we were at a fast food outlet, firing impatient questions at us and couldn't get away quick enough. A starter included the smallest prawns we have ever seen, more scales than flesh, and no sauce, my saltimbocca was excessively salty, and our bill was totally confused since the details of our orders had been muddled with someone else's; had to wait ten minutes for it to be sorted out - while they apologised, a small glass of Limoncello all round or a cake from the delicatessen would have gone a long way to show a little graciousness. Oh, and it has the acoustics of a bar room: we could hear every word from the tables around us, so that we needed almost to shout to each other to be heard, there being nothing in the decor to absorb the sound. Will not go back.

We go to Valentina regularly. The service is friendly and reliable. Marco, the manager/owner is a very nice person who manages the restaurant efficiently and is always happy to give advice on the menu. We never had a bad surprise, the food is always delicious. Hope to return many times in the future.
