“What a wonderful birthday!!!!!”

I cannot believe anyone who writes a poor report for this Hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble, the room upgrade was fantastic, choice and quantity of food was excellent, service in the restaurant was great.
Perhaps I am easier to please than some others, but all my party were extremely satisfied with the stay. We went on a special deal £99 pp for two nights all inclusive, bed, breakfast, lunch, dinner, as much tea and coffee as you like all day, and free drinks in the evening.
Wonderful time, will certainly be going back.

We stayed at Madeley Court on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. My wife and I were part of a group of 12 who had booked for their New Year's Eve Dinner and on their All Inclusive deal on New Year's Day.

The New Year Dinner was brilliant. Superbly organised by Helen who had gone to the trouble of producing name tabs for all the guests, including the food we had all ordered, which meant no one got the wrong meal. The food was first class and the wine was really good too.

Our room was in the East Wing of the hotel, it was a large room and very comfortable.

New Year's Day was excellent too. Plenty of choice for breakfast, soup and sandwiches for lunch, with a good choice of sandwiches and another excellent evening meal. Tea and coffee available all day and as much house wine as you can drink between 6 00 and 11 00 pm. All in all a fantastic deal and a top class stay.

We all had such a good time we plan to do it again next year and we also discussed a Summer Solstice get together for the twelve of us.

I recentle stayed at the Madeley Court Hotel for 2 nights with my husband and friends. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the most friendly reception staff I have encountered.

The hotel itself is very old, we were situated in he old part of the hotel on the third floor. This room is reached via a very old and steep wooden spiral staircase and although this would not be great for those with walking difficulties I absolutely loved the rustic and charming feel of the old part of the hotel which is full of character.

We stayed in an executive room and the room was outstanding. We had a 4 poster bed and beautiful views of the lake and the room was perfectly clean and equipped with large LCD TV and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

On both nights we ate in the restraunt and the food and the service were outstanding. There is plenty of choice on the menu which changes daily, even for a very fussy eater. Breakfast again was lovely with plenty to choose from and again staff couldnt do enough for you.

All in all a beautiful hotel, with amazing service and food and would highly recommend. Ignore all bad reviews people seem to get upset when they are not presented with the monotiny of a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge. If you are looking for a rustic hotel full of character, look no further.

Our visit was made during the very bad weather so we were relieved when we negotiated the long hotel drive and were able to park quite near the reception. . Our room was not in the old part - which has a spiral staircase -but was good with a view over the( frozen) lake.
We stayed for two nights on the "all inclusive" basis. The evening meals were excellent - particularly the starters - and eating in what must have been the old hall in front of a real fire was fabulous. The service was fautless.
The hotel is in a gorgeous old manor house- thick walls, wooden pannelling , huge fireplaces. The snow was deep when we arrved and made the grounds and building itself look magical.
We walked to Blists Hill Victorian Village (fairly easy and mostly flat) and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The Christmas market was on and the snow added to the atmosphere.
We would certainly recommend this hotel and intend to return again - hopfully in warmer weather!

I recently stayed at Madeley court with my friends and had a brilliant time. There was snow everywhere but this to me added to the christmas scene. The hotel itself is like living in a castle, with the winding stairs to the bedrooms and the charator and history inside was amazing. I felt like a Queen for 2 days. Myself and my partner had the Gables room and our friends the Chapel room. Both are suggested to be the most haunted rooms in the hote.We did experience a couple of things but nothing too scary. The restaurant has a lovelly setting, they have an old fire place which Lesley at the hotel kept on putting the logs on to keep us all warm. We had such a laugh with the staff. It was a shame the lake was frozen as I would of loved to of done some fishing. We are looking to go again in the Summer and for Halloween. I recommend this hotel as a 1st choice for Telford. A big thank you for to Helen, Karen and Joanne.

Stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding at the hotel. The wedding guests had pretty much taken over the whole hotel so I’m not sure if some of the service we had was different to normal.

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and couldn’t be faulted. The actual rooms and facilities, though, don’t really match the quality of the staff.

I had a room in the new block that is separate from the main building. The radiator in the bedroom didn’t work, but a maintenance man was sent in as soon as I mentioned it to reception. The bathroom was exceptionally cold, and the shower was lukewarm and so pathetically weak that it was actually difficult to wash the soap off. The water tanks in the loft above the room meant that there was the sound of running water for most of the night. I’m sure the ‘historic rooms’ are a better standard (though on the second morning, many of the guests in those rooms had no hot water at all) but the new rooms gave the overall impression of being a bit ‘faceless business hotel’.

We had a set menu for dinner in the hotel the night before the wedding and the food was good without being anything exceptional. Breakfasts were a real disappointment though – the hotel boasts about its cuisine, but they were serving up cheap catering sausages, hash browns and congealed scrambled eggs kept warm in bain-maries in an all you can eat buffet style. Pastries were also mass produced, and the jams were cheap and nasty. A hotel that takes food seriously would have better ingredients and cook to order.

For all that, it wasn’t massively expensive and the wedding itself was great. I wouldn’t go back there if I happened to be in the area, but as a weekend away in a big group it worked well.
