Having read the last few bad reports I was a bit worried. I need not have been. This is a lovely old hotel in absolutely beautiful grounds. Down the long drive to a very romantic setting. The rear of the hotel is even better overlooking a large lake where the many ducks reside. The room wasnt huge, but was very clean with a large bathroom. The staff are beyond reproach all smiling and cant do enough for you. Hotel itself has lovely little side rooms such as the William and Mary lounge or the Oak Panelled room, lovely for sitting after dinner to have your coffee, or cheese and biscuits. Now to the food, well what can I say. It was superb, presentation first class, taste sublime, and plenty of it, couldnt manage the full three courses sometimes.I cannot praise this hotel enough, and will definitely be back.
