The Blue Mountain is a mile and a half from Morecambe town centre, walk there and build pan appetite! Friendly atmosphere, when we went the locals were in attendance, which is always a good indication of an establishment.

We booked for 8pm Al a Carte - no one else came in after this time, it would appear the tea time special slots available till 7pm are the norm here - no one left while we were there and we were the first to leave! No rush to leave - Allan was pleased to chat and refill glasses while his customers chatted, which is lovely on a midweek evening.

We had starters,a main and drinks - if we had known the portion sizes we wouldn't of bothered with starter, omg, where else would you get terrines of mash (delishious garlic infused) cabbage, sprouts, carrots, peas, cauliflower and a big bowl of chips to accompany your main meal? It certainly does not say so on the menu and was a lovely surprise, pity we had to,leave some - there was no room for it all.

Would highly recommend this establishment, excellent piping hot food, spotless, friendly owner - sits at the table with you while you order!

£64 including a tip.
Took a taxi back the mile and a half to our hotel £4.90 - £6 with tip.

Our first visit to this restaurant on Wednesday with our family. The quality of the food was fabulous, everybody enjoyed it with plenty of veg and both chips and mash potatoes. The steaks and chicken were cooked to perfection and the Diane sauce is amazing. I would really recommend this restaurant we will be returning next time we are in the area.

We have eaten at the Blue Mountain on a few occasions and it has never failed to impress. The fayre is definitely not 'high cuisine', nor does it pretend to be which is a bonus in my view. It sticks to what it does best - decent honest food at average restaurant prices.

The service can be a bit slap-dash but it's really horses for courses - the staff make up for it in their enthusiasm and from what comes out from the kitchen. This is not a Michelin-starred restaurant so that is forgiven.

Four of us shared two chicken liver pates to start which were fresh and very tasty; the bread was toasted crusty roll portions. For mains I had the Blue Mountain steak (medium rare) which was cooked to perfection, tender and tasty (the meat for the restaurant is bought from our local butcher so I know the provenance). My partner had the salmon and side salad which she described as very nice. One friend has the trout which he devoured whilst his wife had the chicken chilli (with extra chilli) and her description was "yummy".

All dishes are served with copious amounts of vegetables as side including garlic potato mash, tasty French fries, peas, broccoli, and carrots.

Be warned though - the portions are very generous so, unless you are in a food eating competition, you may be hard pressed to consume three courses. Ok, the decor is a bit 'traditional' but i go to a restaurant to eat the food, not chew the wallpaper. The views across the bay are stunning (if you happen to have a window seat) and in summer there are tables for outdoor dining.

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant last Friday evening. The atmosphere was good, and the weather so good we could sit outside after our meal to enjoy our drinks. The owner made us very welcome.
The menu is extensive, my hubby had the halibut which he said was beautiful, I had a chicken dish whcih was superb. They came with a good selection of vegetables & french fires. A nice bottle of Merlot completed the meal.
The restaurant is open Weds., Thurs., Fri & Sat. evenings. Before seven there is a sprcially priced menu, and after 7pm A la carte, although they are quite willing to serve the a la carte before that time.
Well worth a visit.
