Visited the York this week because they have a new menu. Amazingly the york is still a golden nugget in morecambe that many dont know about. I had the cow pie with red cabbage and peas which was fantastic my wife had gammon all locally sourced. We went with our two year old daughter who was well looked after with attentive staff and an extensive chidrens menu. Since then we have been in a large group twice for breakfast at weekends and it is simply the best in town. If you are looking for a great place to eat with fresh locally produced homemade food look no further.

A friendly local with a definite edge on what " great pub grub" should be. In this economic climate value for money is as important as the quality of food we want when we eat out , the York certainly get this right on both counts.** note ** this would be an excellent establishment for corporate use and party's.

Thank you very much for your review. We rely on good customer feedback as we consider "word of mouth" a very strong tool in promoting our business. I hope you will continue to support the new "Ellies Diner" concept at the York Hotel.

Mike

We have eaten a few times in The York, and had excellent food. The service is warm & friendly in a comfortable traditional pub. The homemade steak in ale pie with 'real' chips was melt in the mouth with plenty of meat, and at last real chips...also the sirlion steak was cooked perfectly and was good local beef that makes a lot of differance to the taste, and also came with real chips, onion rings, mushrooms and side salad...This is excellent tasty food that you would expect to get in a restaurant, supereb value that makes you want to return for further visits with the family.

Came here for the Thursday quiz and ate beforehand. I didnt expect the very tasty food on offer And was bowled over by the fantastic steak and ale pie. Made with Guinnes it just melted on the Tongue. My partner had the fish goujons and to our surprise she was asked what real ale she wanted her batter mixed with.
This is more than just pub grub!
