Lovely atmosphere & bar area. Not what you would expect.
Food is delicious..steak & ale pie & pizza's are to die for! But then so is everything else.......try everything & you won't be disappointed I promise. Well done the Palatine, sister pub to the Sun in Lancaster.

“Good food”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

The staff were very friendly.
My husband has pizza didn't look very nice- water from the chilli con carne sat on top and looked burnt around the edge but actually it was very nice. I had a meal of specials board- prawns and mussels in a creamy garlic sauce. The sauce was beautiful- I love lots of garlic so it was perfect for me. The mussels and prawns were just frozen mix heated up so that was disappointing, if they had been fresh king prawns still in their shells, or at least with tails still on and fresh mussells still in the shell it would have been much nicer and a little more convincing. The bread served with it was delish. We also had a portion of chips which were amazing- it's rare when you find somewhere that still serves hand cooked chips so this was good!!

“Chips from hell”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Pizza was in the average, means ugly and a bit burnt. Chips and fish was the worst I've ever eaten in this country. The fish was fresh, but the chips and and everything was so oily and over-fried that I've never seen such dark brown chips before! Drink were ok.

“Nice pub with friendly bar staff”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

We are visiting family in Morecambe and went for a walk to find somewhere to eat, there's not many nice places to go but The Palatine was NOT full of old men and chavs so we decided to go in. The bar staff are inviting, helpful and friendly and the Pizza was great.

What a lovely pub! Visited on Saturday lunch time, pretty busy, nothing too much trouble for the barman. Great atmosphere, loads of beers, homemade soup with a doorstep (gorgeous!!!)
