We visited the hotel for last Sunday for morning coffee with my aunt. The hotel has been well restored and has a lovely vintage feel. There was a wedding in the conservatory so coffee was being served in the foyer and the Rotunda Bar. Bar staff were extremely unwelcoming and surly -completely out of keeping with the appearance of the hotel!

Tip

Get there before 11 for coffee to be sure of a seat in the conservatory or Foyer- avoid the bar!

Worth a look but requires work on charm form staff!

Went here for evening meal - the bar not the restaurant , on a recommendation. We were staying overnight in Morecambe before our way of the roses cycle challenge. It was a bank holiday evening after a long hot day so to be fair they had been very busy all day. Ordered a cider each only for the waiter to come back and say they only had one left, so settled for a cold beer instead. We both ordered the cumberland curl (bangers and mash) and the waiter came back to explain that they did not have the cumberland curl but would straight sausages be ok instead - which it was, couldn't think why the shape of the sausage would make a difference to the taste :) The food was hot and tasty, not michelin standard but a nice meal with a cold beer sitting watching the sunset across the bay, nice end to the evening.

I’d never thought about going to Morecambe until a friend mentioned she would like to visit this Art Deco hotel and I was to be invited.

We arrived at the hotel with no lunch booking but the helpful staff soon found us a table in the Sun Terrace Restaurant. We only wanted a light lunch but were informed the minimum order was two courses. However, we were advised that The Rotunda Bar served light lunches.

The menu in The Rotunda Bar was more to our taste, I ordered the Fish Platter and my friend the Midland Fish & Chips. It was reasonably priced, the food and service was excellent and would certainly go again.

I took three friends here over the weekend, it was hot and sunny, the bar had around 35 people in and around with two staff working. The hotel is impressive. A lot of public money has gone into developing the building as a vanguard for Morecambe's long term resurgence.

What a disaster.

Plates piled high outside. Glasses strewn here, there and everywhere. People stood around the circular bar, money in hand, looking forlorn. Customers buying two of everything because "I'm not waiting 30 mins for another drink". Music too loud, place looked grubby inside and out.

It wasn't that busy. I happened to say to a friend that it was taking a long time to get served and I was inundated with people sat nearby saying what a ridiculous situation it was. There were two staff, poorly dressed (tshirts hanging out of trousers etc) moving at the pace of a glacier. No management in sight.

Very, very poor and letting the whole place down. Everyone knew the weather forecast, the management should have known it would be (slightly) busier than usual. There's really no excuse.
