We chose a fairly terrible day for weather [cold & windy] but found the large area of parking with disabled badge holder spaces very useful. Slopes up to the entrance on either side of the steps also helped.
Entry is not inspiring as the beatiful open lobby means you are not sure where to go for the afternoon tea: I think they need someone on duty at the entrance to make you feel welcomed and to know where you are going. Staff at the main desk quickly got us to the correct area.
The Afternoon Tea is described by others but came as three of everything for our party of three. It was accompanied by as many pots of tea as you wished. At the end we asked about taking home a couple of uneated pieces of cale/scone and these were quickly packed into a proper cake box for us without any problem.
Service was a little slow initially given the few choices of 'tea' you could have but once going was efficient and pleasant.
The views from our table over a very windblown Morecambe Bay were stunning.
Costs are very reasonable for the quantity, service and setting.
Mum loved it!

Stopped at the Midland for a drink & lunch on a recent day trip to Morecambe and so pleased we did. Morecambe itself was a big surprise (the last time I visited in the 90's it was very run down) and what a joy to see the Midland restored to its former glory. Food was very good & service attentive, the Rotunda bar was the perfect place for a light lunch looking out over the bay, can recommend the fish tapas plate - mmm. Certainly wouldn't hesitate to return for the weekend.

We dined here on a Saturday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Despite the restaurant being almost empty we were at first seated on a drafty table near to the entrance, staff did however move our table on request. Menus were brought over instantly but we waited another 20 mins before our drinks order was taken. The food was superb and cannot be faulted, however we were spoken to by different waiting staff at each stage of the meal and we did not feel the service we were given matched the expensive prices charged. Staff were discourteous and quite cold at times!

We hadn't eaten here for over a year, and were very pleased to see that they have improved on their standards of service, food quality and overall cleanliness of the place. We went on a crisp, sunny, autumnal day and had a lovely view of the sea and across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland hills. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was well presented and copious in quantity (we had seafood platters, with locally sourced produce). It is good to be able to have a delicious, good value casual lunch (we were cycling that day) without having to dress up more formally, which is what would be required for the adjacent Restaurant. My only criticism is that the tables are very small to accommodate the size of the plates.

Recently visited with friends and it was an enjoyable experience.
Beautifully laid tables with fast effecient service. Lots of tasty finger sandwiches, a plain & fruit scone each (yum) and 3 cakes each. The cakes could have been better for a place of this calibre.
No offers of extra tea though.
