My wife and I stayed for two nights as part of an organised urquarts coach trip which took in a visit to the grand national at aintree. Considering the very reasonable price that we paid for our whole trip we felt it was very good value. The hotel was warm and comfortable ,the staff were very polite and helpful and the food was good. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town centre and if you manage to get a front facing room there is a lovely view over morecambe bay. We would also like to thank our coach driver Helen for her very professional services. She was helpful ,informative and gave an enjoyable smooth drive at all times. I would definitely recommend using the hotel and if you fancy a trip to the grand national without breaking the bank go to urquarts coaches. Ray and Jackie Wilson ,shiney row, Tyne and Wear.

We stayed here as part of a coach party to go to the grand national. Rooms are pretty standard but clean. Buffet style breakfast was good with plenty toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Dinner had plenty choice, however not everyone wants a meal covered in a sauce. Soup and sandwiches served after coming back from the races in the lounge upstairs and we were sitting in the dark and had to ask for the lights to get put on.
I felt the hotel had no atmosphere,
There was no entertainment whatsoever so if you wanted to do something you had to go further up the deserted promenade to find it either by taxi or on foot. You'd think with a coach party or two staying in the hotel they would put on entertainment to keep the guests in the hotel.

Hotel right on the Prom with great views over the bay. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Great choice at evening meal all delivered to your seat. Breakfast is buffet with an adequate selection.
Entertainment at night in spacious bar overlooking the bay must be lovely in summer.

We were lucky enough to be given the bridal suite on our stay which was very nice and comfortable. Important thing is room is clean and tidy. Heating worked so no issues in that area.

Only niggle was a boiler issue that meant hot water was warm rather than hot as such....

Still with 5 stars for staff attention and courtesy.
