i found this on internet and telephoned and spoke to jayne the owner who booked us in ,on arrival i fell instantly in love with the house. Jayne welcomed us very well and welcomed us to cawthorne house she was very caring asking if i could manage the stairs after recent heart surgery. she took us to our room which was huge and absolutely perfect for us it was highly decorated and had all my tastes in. Jayne is very thoughtful in her job e.g sweets in room jewellery box little books to read . the bed was huge and the en suite was to die for. it was immaculate, her manner at breakfast time was very professional and friendly but best of all her breakfasts were delicious . we are planning to return in the warmer weather. nearly forgot Betty the dog who was excellent with us at all times very friendly .felt like family while staying only down side was having to leave thankyou Jayne we had a fab time .

Room Tip: we had the largest room 2 with a huge bed loads of room space large en suite with excellent quality...

Booked to stay at Cawthorne House for the weekend. We arrived after a long journey from the south coast and were welcomed by Jayne. We were offered a hot drink which was accompanied by cake and shortbread, very welcome. The room we had booked was a twin and this is on the ground floor, it was a good size and very comfortable, the shower room had toiletries provided and this was an added bonus. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed really good nights sleep.
We also thought the sweets which were in the room was also a nice touch.
Jayne provided a really good breakfast with lots of choice including fruit, cereal and a selection of cooked food.
We had a comfortable and quiet stay and we would reccomend Cawthorne House as a place to stay.

Stayed a Fri & Sat night. Arrived lavish on Friday and we were welcomed by Jayne the owner and shown up to a lovely large double room. We were given recommendations on we're to eat locally. Check out the Willowgate Bistro. After a great nights sleep in the kings size double and shower in the lovely ensuite shower room, we had breakfast in the spacious dining room. Probably the best B&B breakfast I've had anywhere! Seriously it was excellent, endless cereals, prepared fruits & yogurt, along with a superb full yorkshire fry up. We need to leave promptly on the Sunday and Jayne was quite happy to give us an early breakfast to the same standard. It seems many guests are regulars, and we'll definitely be back.

perfect place to stay in Pickering. Jayne cooks super breaky, every thing you could ask for. Very family friendly.
The b&b is really stylish and was a pleasure for us all to stay.
We stayed in room one which is ideal for a couple & 1x child. The bathroom had lovely touches which made you feel at home.
There is a little dog which is very friendly and you wouldn't know its there.
The whole visit was great.

We stayed here with friends and we were all very impressed from start to finish with the warm welcome & quality of the accommodation.
The rooms were lovely, tastefully decorated and had everything needed for a comfortable break away. The breakfast was wonderful with a choice of cereal, fresh fruit, full English, continental, or a mixture of any or all!
Jayne could not have made us feel more welcome & gave good recommendations for local restaurants which we took full advantage of. We would definitely like to return.

We stayed here for two nights in June 2013. Jayne (the hostess) was brilliant. We were welcomed with a pot of tea and home made Shortbread and Flap Jack.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very filling and tasty.

We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and were given a bottle of wine and a card which was so thoughtfull!

Ideally situated to the town centre, which was ideal, so we could park the car and forget it for 2 days!

I have already passed the details onto one of my collegues, who also loves the area.

I stayed at Cawthorne House with my partner for one night whilst we were in Pickering for the NYMR Pullman Dining Service. Jayne was a lovely host and the room was perfect. Breakfast was amazing and you could have anything you want. We would definitely return whenever we are in Pickering next.
