“The Coach House and the Barn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

We stayed in the Coach house for a week in April and the Barn for 6 days in September.
Both properties are the best we have ever stayed in with high standards of cleanliness, amenities and the log fires are a treat.
Perfect central location to explore York, the coast and the moors
A very warm welcome awaits you.

Taken here for a delightful birthday surprise and could find no fault whatsoever.

We were a group of 7 and had booked the Barn and the Applestore Cottage. The main bedroom in the Applestore is fantastic and the ensuite is amazing. A delightful blend of traditional and very modern.

The converted barn is very modern and was a perfect setting for a formal meal served by Cheri, our delightful waitress and prepared by chef Michael Pern.

Every conceivable convenience was supplied from hi-fis & TVs to salad spinner. The properties were spotless, the beds divine, settees sumptuous. A welcome pack of bacon, sausages, bread and wine was a nice touch. The resident cat was well trained; did not attempt to enter either of the premises but kept a watchful eye on us from the garden!

We supplied ( an ample quantity of ) our own drinks thus saving on restaurant prices. When this is taken into account our stay was probably less expensive that if we had stayed in a good hotel and considerably more enjoyable and relaxed.

I would recommend without hesitation,

Room Tip: Best Bedroom & Ensuite is Applestore. Best Kitchen and dining is The Barn.

Our stay at the coach house was wonderful. We were met with a warm welcome along with a welcome hamper which included a loaf of delicious home made bread. The coach house exceeded our expectations on every level. We would thoroughly recommend it to those wanting to explore North Yorkshire.

I am the lucky friend who had the 60th birthday surprise and words cannot express how wonderful the entire break was. Both Noelle and Tim are the most delightful people, so caring and attentive from the homemade scones and jam on arrival to the bottle of bubbly on the night of my 'party' to making sure we had everything sorted for our departure. The barn is absolutely amazing in every detail and having Michael Pern cook for us on the Saturday was so special I would advise anyone who wants something different for a loved one to seriously consider this.

Looking forward to going back again soon.

Stayed here 4 nights 13-17 Sept what an amazing place - everything you could possibly want and the warmest and friendliest people taking care of your every need are Noelle and her husband Tim. We had arranged for Michael Pern to cook a private meal on Saturday evening as a special suprise for our friends 60th birthday and this too was a truly amazing experience.

Thank you Noelle for all you help, advise and friendly welcome cannot recommend this place highly enough and certainly if you want to make it really special dont hesitate in booking Michael from White Cottage Caterers.

Room Tip: Both rooms are fantastic

Everything we needed was provided in this beautiful cottage, including a lovely garden for the children to play in. Added to this is the luxury of the wonderful bathroom in the trees - very relaxing. There is so much to do in this part of the country, both inland and on the coast. We will be back...

I am very fussy about where I holiday and spend many hours and hours researching in order to find the perfect location. Noelle's cottages are just that...perfect. Beautiful inside and out and in the ideal location to explore all the wonders of North Yorkshire. However, what makes this place so special is the owners understanding of excellent customer service. They were friendly, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. You really feel they care that your holiday is everything you want it to be. Ours certainly was.
Perfect for family holidays or romantic breaks. Every one of the 5 stars is well deserved.
