“A SPECIAL PLACE TO STAY”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

We spent a night here with my parents for there 50th wedding anniversary
Richard & Helene are the perfect hosts and have the perfect place for you to stay.
A warm welcome when we arrived on a Snowy saturday,,cake and coffee in the lounge was most enjoyable.
The room was warm and clean with complimentary toiletries.......thank you.
After a look around Pickering we returned to the guest house to find a roaring log fire,a great way to spend a cold evening with family. They even provided my parents with a bottle of Champers for their special day.
A hearty and well cooked breakfast for us on the Sunday morning before we left.
This guest house is one of the best i have visited, nothing was to much trouble
Keep up the good work and we hope to see you again soon

I stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. The previous reviews are correct, it's very good, very well run. Friendly hosts, very good breakfast, and spotlessly clean. Apart from dancing girls, what more can one ask for?

Thank you for tasking the time to write a review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Next time we will see what we can do about the dancing girls - not promising though!

My husband and I stayed here for about a month due to unforeseen circumstances. We could not have picked a better place to stay, for an extended time. We stayed at the Old Coach House, which was wonderful, and we had a very restful time. Richard and Helene are wonderful hosts, non abstrusive, and ready to help when asked. They have had Bramwood Guest House for a couple of years now, and as I read, their comments are positive. Any comments made about prior owners no longer apply, as Richard and Helene offer a warm, welcoming experience. Their Coach House is wonderfully appointed, and the perfect getaway for an extended stay. I am missing it now. It was the best time I have had in the UK, barring from when my sister visited. Nothing equals that. The surrounding village is packed with very helpful, nice people. Even townsfolk I did not know would say hello, or have a friendly comment. I felt safe and secure, even when my husband was away on business. Oh yes, on arrival we had a lovely lemon tea cake, and all the welcoming amenities. We went for the self catering, as we never know when, or what we want to eat, so that suited us very well. The Coach House has a washer, dryer, dishwasher, pots, pans, the whole kit and kaboodle. The village has all the stores, cafes, and pubs, within an agreeable walking distance. We had a lovely time, and I am missing it now.

Room Tip: The Coach House is very good for privacy, the Tack Room is smaller with a small kitchen downstairs...

Warm and friendly hosts. Was greated with coffee and cake which was delicious. The whole house is of a high standard and is spotless. Great location. The lounge is comfortable with an open fire that you can use at any time. The bedrooms again spotless, very comfortable and have everything in them that you need. Excellent breakfast with quality produce. There are also "specials" available at breakfast. You order breakfast the night before, but if you change your mind, which isn't a problem, you just let Helene or Richard know. There is parking onsite. I would highly recommend a stay at the Bramwood.

A very last minute unplanned overnight stay and what a wonderful find! A lovely welcome on a cold and snowy February night - a very cosy, warm and immaculately clean room and breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Richard and Helene are the perfect host's and we will certainly return. Private parking is also a bonus and their self catering cottages look equally inviting.

Our family of five stayed for one night between Christams and New Year occupying three rooms. Helen and Richard made us feel very welcome from the moment of arrival, when tea and cakes were quickly produced. The bedrooms were all comfortable and well appointed. Decor and furniture are tasteful throughout and the house has a lovely period feel with a pleasant communal lounge. Breakfast was a real highlight; efficiently served, lots of choice and food of the highest quality. Parking is plentiful and the location is right in the centre of town. Hard to fault this B&B. We would definitely use again.
