“Lovely B & B”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

We booked for 2 nights at this B & B but stayed an extra night it was so lovely. Our room was comfortable and spacious and spotlessly clean. Val, who met us on arrival made us so welcome as did Jackie who served breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. There was a welcome drink of port or sherry in the cosy lounge and a beautiful private garden with tables/sunshades for guests to relax in. We had booked a meal on the NYMR Pullman Diner and Grindale House was only a short walk to the station, the perfect location and so close to all amenities. On chatting to other guests at breakfast everyone said what lovely rooms they had and how friendly and helpful the staff were. Will definitely return and will recommend to others.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor - room No 7 the Kingfisher - very spacious

Stayed for 3 nights and could not fault the facilities. We are quite demanding and have stayed in a variety of places for work and leisure. So this was a treat. You know that everything will be done if it can be to make your stay comfortable. Staff are great - friendly and efficient and even enjoy their work which makes for a great atmosphere.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the courtyard side

Val at Grindale does everything in her power (and not in her power) to make your stay as good as possible.....the little touches are amazing.....chocs on your pillow, the extras in the bathroom, wine glasses, but the best of all was the Soya Milk that Val went OUT ESCPECIALLY the night beofre to get for my breakfast......She even asked me how & where I would like my breakfast items on the plate, and what & how I would like things cooked.....

Totally awesome guest house and its no surprise that it has a "4 star gold" rating.....
Thank you Val

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Grindale House, a beautifully renovated building. Our bedroom was very clean and comfortable - strongly recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights during half term (family 2 adults, 2 kids). The family suite was just what we were after; cosy, spotlessly clean, quirky with old beams and wonky floors and walls. Yet modern, clean and comfortable.

We all loved this b&b. Lovely breakfast and very accommodating. Our younger is dairy/egg intolerant and the staff were really accommodating. Our eldest loved the pancakes, and we loved the full English. The staff and owners were so friendly and helpful and certainly go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay and feel welcome.

Right in the town centre, yet not at all noisy. We haven't stayed in a b&b for years as we usually do hotels. But this is a real gem. It's not No1 on Tripadvisor yet. Not sure why not, although I am sure it will be soon. Highly, highly recommended.
