At the high point of the long Market Place in Pickering town centre where it joins Burgate you will find another high point - Lazy Sundae Cafe. There are two cafes next door to each other, Lazy Sundae is the one on the right as you look at them. Don't think that this is only very nice ice-cream, it has also a good menu of light meals and delicious cakes served inside, outside too if you can get a table, by charming and cheerful staff.
We eat out in cafes and restaurants for lunch most days so have quite an in-depth knowledge of what is available and can tell you that if you like an excellent latte there are three places in Ryedale that come up with the goods and the best of these is Lazy Sundae in Pickering. Here you will find not just a skilled barista but an espresso machine that sparkles it's so clean and well looked after. It may be worth adding you can have many other hot and cold drinks.
I didn't really want to let you all into the pleasures of the Lazy Sundae, we might have difficulty getting our favourite seats in one of the two snug rooms but the owners and staff deserve recognition for their high standards and at prices no higher than more ordinary establishments.
