Just arrived home from mon to fri stay in cabin 2..Hot tub was amazing..loved every minute of it. one or two things could be improved, given its not a cheap getaway ! Cant get into cabin til 4pm of booking day and have rather a rush on to be packed up fed and watered all for 10am checkout friday. would be lovely if we had a towel & tea towel replenish too...can also be difficult to be quiet after 10pm...hot tub...wine flowing and 6 energy filled adults and an occupied cabin close by who choose to go to bed early..

Thank you for your review, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your break. With regards to checking in and out, we do have an option when you book to extend both these for a small extra charge, which allows you to make the most of your break. Our policy on noise is to ask our guests to be mindful of others, particularly in the evening as voices do carry in the peace of the forest. I hope you understand.

Kind regards,
Amanda Clarke

You arrive at the sign to Keldy Forest Lodges and drive down the 1.5 mile drive.... it is a beautiful welcome.

On arrival at reception your greeted by very friendly staff and given directions to your cabin :) and then shortly after you arrive a member of staff pops to your cabin and talks you through things like the Hot Tub.

Cabins are furnished nicely, beds are comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with pots, oven dishes, utensils crockery - all you could need to self cater in your cabin.

There is no mobile signal - blessing :) wi-fi is available free at the cafe / reception so it was a good excuse once over the weekend to check the emails and have a lovely cup of freshly made coffee ( ok and perhaps a pastry too)

Plenty of walks and cycle rides to go on.

The cabins are well located and the forest is lovely and peaceful most of the time with only the odd laughing child and bark of a dog to interrupt the blissful quiet and relaxation - unless your situated near to a group on a hen party, birthday part or girls weekend who seem to not realise that in the quiet loud voices, chanting or singing carries even further.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your recent holiday at Keldy. Your appreciation of the forest environment is evident and I am pleased that you enjoyed your break. With regard to noise, we ask all our guests to be considerate but very occasionally the natural exuberance of groups spills over and we then have to be a little bit firmer. I hope you will come and stay with us again soon.

My husband and I spent a very relaxing weekend here with good friends and our two dogs. It's the perfect place to come away and totally relax. Beautiful tranquil, no mobile reception or wifi you can get totally lost. The hot tub is lush, and plenty of room for 4. The lodge was nicely furnished and very comfortable. We were in cabin 4 which if the sun comes out is in the sun all day. The shop stocks some lovely treats.

This place is lovely - very secluded and absolutely no phone signal anywhere (whether you think that is a positive or negative!). Friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable cabins, only complaint is that the hottubs are just too hot! We kept having to get out and cool down!

I am pleased you enjoyed yourselves at Keldy, thank you for taking the time to write a review following your hen weekend. Our hot tubs do have to be kept at a certain minimum temperature for hygiene reasons but I am sorry to hear that it was too hot for you. If you stay again, get one of the team from the Forest Retreat to look at it for you as it shouldn’t be too hot to enjoy!

A lovely site with great facilities. Located in the heart of the forest there are walks and cycle tracks from the door. The site is now a mature development with the cabins very thoughtfully located. Whilst there are others in sight you still feel as if you have a private location.

The central cafe / shop is lovely as well and the staff very helpful.

Only two downsides:

- its a long drive down a single track road to get to the site. Not much of a problem when we were there but I can imagine there are times when its a hassle.
- no wifi/broadband available. Its amazing how you come to rely on it! its free and available at the cafe / shop but a bit of a hassle if you want to do some research on where to go the following day. there again, you may enjoy being off the grid...

Lovely private relaxing cabins near by to some great attractions/ places to visit. The cabin was lovely, clean and spacious for a family of four. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking every night. The shop was very minimal but we had come prepared as we knew that would be the case, but very handy to have. Lovely nights sleep, and great weekend exploring whitby and Scarborough about a half hour drive away.

We have just returned from Keldy stayed mon till fri this week, yes we did enjoy it but have a few issues, staff friendly our cabin was not ready but we were 30 mins early this was not a problem. First impressions of cabin front steps need a good sweep, inside was tidy nothing broken or missing ,but the windows needed a good clean ,shelf under tv only half dusted you could see where they could not reach. The decking needed a good clean, hot tub great enjoyed it.its a shame around the cabins grass/ weed area are not cut. There are some lovely forest walks ideal for dogs but be warned the maps and signes where crap. This is the 3rd hosesons we have been to and the other 2 much cleaner and well kept,DO not let me put you off we still enjoyed it and would return in the near future
