Excellent meal and service on a very busy Saturday 18th January. Beautifully presented food which tasted as good as it looked! Exceptional service. All ages from under 2 to over 70 (and everything in between) were made very welcome.

“Great food!!”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

The food was top notch!! Even on the busy period the service was great and quick. They were fast and were helpful. The food came quick and hot and got served on little candle heaters. It kept the food warm. We got given chopsticks and they helped us to use them. Great place, everyone was very friendly!! Highly recommend!!

“Top food.”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Wanting something different to eat while on holiday. Called in without booking on a Sunday evening. Dispute being busy they found us a table. A comprehensive menu to choose from. The servers were helpful. Food was served fairly quickly and was tasty and a pleasure to eat. The bill was reasonable.

“Excellent food but..........”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

Let's face it, the most important thing about a restaurant is the food and the Dragon Palace does not disappoint. We received generously sized servings of flavoursome, well prepared food. This was undoubtedly among the best Chinese meals which we have enjoyed anywhere.
In addition, the staff were welcoming, friendly, good humoured and attentive - not something one always gets in a Chinese restaurant.
However, two features let the Dragon Palace down. First, the ambiance and decor is more in keeping with a cheap Chinese buffet, a large featureless 'function room'. A few plants and screens would make an enormous difference.
Secondly, sadly, on the evening when we visited, there were two large groups and one very large group - two of the groups celebrating birthdays with the attendant singing etc.! The larger, in particular, made a wholly unnecessary and unpleasant amount of noise, dominating the entire restaurant, as large groups are prone to do. This totally destroyed the otherwise pleasant 'restaurant' atmosphere and made it feel decidedly 'downmarket'.
What was particularly frustrating is that there are two distinct areas to the restaurant. Along with everyone else, we were ushered into the area where the parties were already dining. Why on earth did they not put the large, inevitably noisy parties in one room and put other inevitably quieter diners in the other?
That way we would have had an excellent evening, rather than one which was spoilt by unreasonable noise. This approach is the only factor that would deter us from revisiting.
