Beautiful house. Very comfortable and clean with all the amenities and in a great location. Hoping to go again with all the family.
Excellent property in a great location. The house really has to be seen to fully appreciate its beauty. The original features are all maintained and hit you as soon as you arrive with the character of the front door and entrance hall (although my favourite feature has to be the staircase with light well in the ceiling). The house is beautifully presented and very much feels like a home from home. There are 2 working fire places which give the house an extra cosy feeling when lit, wood is provided. The house is spotlessly clean, with good sized bedrooms and comfortable beds. The kitchen/dinning area is perfect for a family gathering and most kitchen necessities are provided making cooking any meal of the day an easy task. TVs are provided in both the living room and kitchen.
I have now stayed in the house twice and can't recommend it highly enough. I really need to visit in summer as both my previous visits have been in January and I haven't been able to take advantage of the garden, which is accessed by decking and is a great space for kids, bbq or just to relax on a nice day.
Gladstone is a beautiful old house with huge rooms retaining lots of original features and character. It is well maintained, spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable with crisp, clean bedding. The house is located on a quite street but only minutes walk to Stirling Castle and the shopping area. The kitchen is smallish but open plan onto the dining area which has a great table for everyone to gather round to eat.”
The photographs on the website were very good, but ,believe me ,they do not do this beautiful house justice.Everyone was delighted with the way the house was presented.wonderful prints, furniture & artifacs in rooms. The two main bedrooms were massive and the smaller two a good size. All of the house was very clean & the garden delighted both my young grandchildren. The area was very peaceful and within easy reach of the town.We were lucky with the weather, but there was a wealth of information regarding local amenities.Log fires made place very cosy and the kitchen had everything needed for a family. We shall return & thanks Kirsteen for all your help. cheerie bye from the Hadleigh/Davies families.
I have just returned from a week at this house with my family. The house is stunning: beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It is around ten minutes walk into Stirling for the shops, sights and Stirling Castle. It is an easy drive to Edinburgh and Glasgow for city days and Loch Lomond if the country is your thing. I would suggest a car is a must if you want to get the most out of your stay. The parking charge is a couple of pounds for a couple of hours or three quid a day. It’s very rare I am able to say this but the pictures on this site actually don’t do the house justice.....it’s much lovelier in real life!!
Add to this that the owners (Stirling Self Catering) are helpful and informative and you have the perfect combination. Highly recommended.
The mansion is in a splendid location in Stirling, close to the tourist places: Castle, Wallace Monument, Bannockburn etc. The house is huge with a magnificent staircase, large rooms, good beds and well appointed bathrooms. The cooking facilities are first class. You will want for nothing in this house! Go nowhere else in the region!! The management Company is professional and efficient. We will be booking again if we are in the locality.
This house is stunning with great facilities for our party of 7. The location was perfect; walking distance to town and the castle. Extra games for the children were much appreciated. We would love to return.
