I had expected to arrive and find the accommodation to be a Halls of Residence attached to Stirling University, it was a real hotel.
Chosen for several reasons- location, facilities and price, this was an overnight stay for 3 people. We had to have easy car access to several places within and near to Stirling but also wanted somewhere to relax and eat on-site. I'd visited Stirling University before and knew the lovely grounds would be nice to relax in.
Our stay was not in term-time but there were still meetings and conferences being held within the hotel. Car parking was simple.
The rooms were clean and tidy. Some of the carpets were stained but it appeared to be stains rather than dirt. With a similar ensuite room style to a budget hotel, the rooms were nicely laid out and had hospitality trays and bottles of water.
We ate lunch and dinner in the bar on two consecutive days. The menu was small but had variety to suit all tastes. The service was excellent and I was very impressed by the cleanliness.
Staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. This would be my choice of hotel for any future stays in StirlingMore
