Chose to go here for lunch as had read online it was gluten free friendly and thought, as a coeliac, I'd give it a go. Turns out the only item on the menu that was gluten free was the option to change from a baguette with various fillings to gluten free bread. Slightly disappointing as the only specified gluten free option, but better than some places so I looked at the fillings, only to discover that just one of the fillings - egg mayo - was in fact gluten free! Therefore, nothing suitable for people who either don't like egg, or who are also lactose intolerant, like myself. After studying the menu in more detail I discovered the baked potatoes (only available until late afternoon meaning had I been in for dinner I would have had no choices) I decided I'd have a baked potato with beans. I noticed it came with a dressed salad and coleslaw so when I ordered, I specifically requested no coleslaw or dressing, and just in case it came with it, no butter in the potato. After a half hour wait, out came my baked potato, with butter, coleslaw and dressing on the salad. Now, as the waitress had been shouted at almost constantly since my arrival by who I'm assuming to be the manager, with in clear earshot of multiple tables, I decided not to add more to her worries and didn't complain. Luckily for me, I wasn't that hungry and the meal only cost just over £4 so I was willing to let it go, until the manager came over after our meal to ask my friend, who'd left a handful of chips on her plate, if everything had been ok with her meal. I, on the other hand, who had scraped off the butter, and eaten a tiny bit of the inside of the potato and sent the rest back, was completely overlooked. Overall, I was thoroughly unimpressed with the experience and would not go back. As a coeliac I'm used to being able to eat very little when I go out, but somewhere that advertises that it is gluten free friendly should really have been so. There has clearly been no thought put into the menu, as the shoddy mistake with the gluten filled fillings showed, and I have very little faith, that had I ordered gluten free bread, I would have got it.

Excellent venue, with plenty of seating areas, for all types of parties. They have a variety of food to choose from their menu.... Your choice is taken and served by efficient friendly staff. All this is topped by a tasty well presented meal. Try out this venue...... You want be disappointed.

“A really nice afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

We were in Stirling for the afternoon and wanted somewhere to watch Andy Murray play in the Wimbledon Final. We don't normally spend much time in sports bars but I have to say we had a great time.
We both ate and the food was excellent and a bottle of Pinot only a tenner! Staff were also excellent, helpful and very friendly. The manager also bought everyone a drink when Andy won! Really hospitable and we had a great time, excellent!

“Top class service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

I live in Stirling so I have been here quite a lot, until roughly 18 months ago this place was terrible! The staff sleeping in the room behind the curtains, no service,
The place was dead etc, but then this new manager appeared, I'm not sure on his name but he wears glasses and always a smile! He seems to have turned this place around and it's always busy and the service is second to none! You are always made welcome and are never without a drink or food if you want it. The manager and staff are brilliant. I love going to city walls now. Keep up the great
