'Farmhouse' really doesn't do this place justice; it is a beautiful period property, complete with extensive, lovely gardens and woodland, set down a secluded track where you may see deer, and where you will definitely see horses and chickens. The host, Moira went above and beyond, and couldn't do enough to welcome us and our two young children, help us get our bearings and find somewhere close by to eat dinner. We stayed in the large, quiet family room, which was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was memorable too – from local honey to spread on your oatcakes to homegrown courgettes, freshly collected eggs and black pudding, we will be looking for an excuse to come back.

Stayed here one night while we visited Stirling. I wish we stayed longer. What an awesome bed and breakfast. It's located on a farm and has a wealth of charm. There are horses, dogs, chickens on the farmhouse. The owner Moira was a gracious host, she greeted us and promptly fixed us tea and cookies. Our room had comfortable beds and we had a private bath. The breakfast was a hearty Scottish breakfast with a sampling of haggis. We enjoyed the company of diverse travelers from around Europe. Our kids even got to pick some eggs from the chickens. We got a nice sampling of farm and rural life which was great for us suburbanites. It is a little hard to find so we used google maps to pinpoint an exact location for us to plug into our navigation system.

You are certainly made very welcome here. Breakfasts are excellent and rooms comfortable.
Well situated for exploring Stirling and the surrounding countryside as well as being close to Edinburgh.
Only small complaint was the noise of the plumbing from other rooms late at night and early in the morning.

My son and I stayed here for a night on our journey home from Skye. Moira is very helpful and experienced in the B & B trade. We were made to feel at home, wandering around the spacious grounds and nearby woods. We were given our own living area, we breakfasted in a lovely old dining room and had adequate facilities in the twin room. The house dates from 1802, and is decorated accordingly which for me, added character. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious although the en suite was very small. Views from the rooms were wonderful. The breakfast was very filling, and delightful! We had fresh fruit, cereal, toast, smoked fish, haggis, eggs, toast and fresh coffee. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed 2 nights, with a nearly 2 year old - slept so soundly - all of use - so peaceful and beds so comfy, total experience very good - had to hide a few bits out of reach for a toddler like sewing kits, cups and glasses etc but would have had to do that anywhere ! Very beautiful house

My wife and I found The B & B on Foders and it was everything we could have asked for and more. Moira and her husband Tony are very nice people. The B & B is also a working farm. When we arrived and given a simple tour of the rooms which are all elegant and nicely furnished. We then were shown to our bedroom which was wonderful. Hugh bedroom and bathroom with TV and a tea service. We were also offered afternoon tea and cakes. The location is great easy to get to the castle and good restaurants.
The West Plean is a relaxing place to spend the night. Just like it's supposed to be.

Booked here for one night during out tour of Scotland. Would have stayed longer had time allowed. It is a working farm situated in a beautiful position a couple of miles outside Stirling. Our room was very comfortable although the furniture was rather old fashioned but in a way that nevertheless seemed in keeping with the country house style of property. Everything was cosy and homely, and Moira is a wonderful hostess - she welcomed us with tea and shortbread. Breakfast was excellent as I can truthfully say we were sorry to leave. Recommended.
