First impressions of the hotel aren’t great – but once inside its ok. To be honest, the inside looks rather tired and in need of some modernising. Carpet and deco taste not great – migraine inducing! However, the location is second to none with ample parking, even though a bit of a tight entrance / exit etc. Everywhere clean and tidy, it just had a look of a hotel that needed some work doing on the inside. Bedrooms ok, just very warm and unable to lower temperature much with windows open. Only problem with that was our window opened into the courtyard, so we were disturbed a few times both late at night and early morning. Bathroom functional and no problems. Bed a bit too soft, but again it was ok.

Breakfast fine, although the room was red hot, particularly near the warm food. Good choice for everyone and to be honest, I think one of the better cooked breakfasts I’ve had at a self service.

If you are looking for somewhere in a good location, I don’t think you can get any better. Just don’t expect modern look. Didn’t eat in the restaurants because there was loads of good choice outside. Who wants to be in the hotel anyway when the city centre is on the doorstep.

Stirling is a great location and well worth a visit. We were luck with the weather – as it was dry! Plenty to do in and around the area to keep all tastes occupied!

Firstly it was a nightmare to book. Called direct. After a legnthy automated process the message said reservations was not open on Sunday!

So had to redial on the 0800 number!

Finally got booked. 100 for the night. Room advertised wifi. £6 for an hour or £12 for 24! Another big hotel chain scamming its residents & not making it clear on their website that its not free!

Come on. We all know they have a unlimited package with their provider, but yet they insist on trying to scam every penny outta their guests or their companies such as mine.

I did not dine as I looked at the menu & felt it was over priced. Following the wifi scam I decided they were not getting anymore of my companies money!

Room was ok & clean. Breakfast satisfactory but not great!

Rooms are good but advertising of the hotel failed to mention that the guest rooms were in fact located in a new wing, the decor of which is not in keeping with the older buiding which we thought we would be staying in. Indiferent staff in restaurant area.
Location in the city of Stirling is perfect. Suitable for conference customers.

We met with a large group of ex-army colleagues for a military reunion in Central Scotland recently. Where better than the Stirling Highland Hotel?

Easy access, good secure parking and friendly welcoming staff. The accommodation and food were absolutely first class and the facilities were excellent too.

I managed to get myself into a minor difficulty over my room key, and the problem was magicked away seamlessly by the reception staff.

We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting central Scotland and I am sure we will use it again.
