Good parking, quick check in, clean, quiet, reasonable sized rooms but you will need a car as it's on an industrial estate. There must have been something on in Stirling that Saturday evening because we had to pay £105 advance purchase via their website - the most I've ever paid for a HI Express. There were no extra pillows or blankets in the room so apart from the hotel being fairly new, there was nothing special about it. It did the job.

Stayed here 2 nights in February. Room was clean and bed was huge! Breakfast was good, choice of cereals and pastries/toast etc and the breakfast room was spacious with tv. If you don't have a car you would struggle slightly with having dinners out, we went to the pub next door on the first night but food wasn't that good. Ample car parking and easy to find, a good basic hotel for one or 2 nights stay.

We stayed here the weekend of the Scotland v Ireland match in Edinburgh, but couldn't get anywhere to stay there. We weren't the only ones who were there for the rugby, there was a coach from Louth in the car park.

The HIE in Stirling was great, lovely rooms and the continental breakfast was excellent too.

There's a regular bus service into town from the Park and Ride with a stop at the nearby Morrisons supermarket. The bus stops at the train station and that was really handy for getting the train to Edinburgh on the day of the match.

We booked into the Holiday Inn Express because of the cost and ease to locate. We stayed only one night in August 2003. If we ever go back to the area, primarily to see the Stirling Castle and Wallace’s Monument, will be staying there again.

It exceeded our expectations. It looked like a fairly new facility.
The facility was very clean and the room was very comfy.

The staff were very friendly.
We had breakfast the next morning included in the booking price. Large variety of cereals, breads/bagels, spreads, juices, etc.

Overall, a very nice place to stay.

This is a nice hotel (fairly new build I think), with a lovely view of the highlands.

I made my booking via the website as those had the best rates.

On making my reservation I emailed the team at the hotel to find out if 2 glasses of champagne and a rose could be placed in my friend's room for her and her boyfriend prior to arrival, the response did not address me (so not very personal) and they couldn't fulfil the request which is understandable but no alternative or small apology was offered.

The hotel is in a new industrial area so is great if you have a car to get around (the hotel is aimed more at business travellers) otherwise you will find yourself having to catch cabs to and from the hotel as there is not really any easy access to public transport... a bit of a pain when we wanted to go to the centre during the day, then had to catch cabs back to the hotel to get changed and then catch cabs again to go out and eat.

Apart from that, the hotel is very nicely priced, nice decor.... a fridge with snacks that you can purchase, a nice bar area with pool table.

One other thing, if you are planning on having breakfast... make sure you go down at least 45 mins before it is due to finish otherwise you will find that there are no bowls for your cereals... no bread or pastries for the butter(!) and no plates for the fresh fruit pieces.

Fantastic stay in an immaculately clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and the free parking was handy. The reception area and breakfast room have recently been renovated and were lovely. The room was not as modern as the rest of the hotel, but was huge and had everything you could want.

The big downside to this hotel is that it is located 2 miles outside of Stirling town centre and so walking to a night out isn't really an option. That said, it only cost us £5 for a taxi to the town centre, and the hotel was such good value it was still considerably cheaper than staying in an equally nice hotel in the city centre.
