“excellent family run italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

excellent family run Italian with and great value for money unlike some of the other Italian in Stirling which are over priced and less authentic. They do pizza, pasta, fish and meat dishes with house specialities aswell as the popular favourites. There is a cafe style level on the ground floor and the restaurant on the upper level to suit both informal and more formal dining....been going here for years and it still never disappoints

“splendido”

my boyfriend being half Italian I took the risk of bringing him here for our christmas dinner (candle lit and given privacy of the corner table upstairs). He was at home! a bottle of peroni and a pizza. whilst I had napolina tagliatelle. We shared bruschetta to start and chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Food was brilliant no complaints we sat upstairs and so could see food prep... no microwave as another has thought. Service was fast and friendly with a smile. it was the third occasion where I had eaten here and never had a complaint!!! . As for expensive... never heard such rubbish! Im a student at the university and I could easily have a started and main for £10 and then head across to morrisons bar for a quiet drink no problem before getting a taxi back to uni. its our no.1 place to eat out at with football team, mum & dad and my boyfriend. brilliant and i'll be back in february :)

“Steer clear”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Beaten to the Big Mistake title. In Stirling Friday lunchtime as staying at a local hotel. After trip round shops, the wife n kids wanted lunch (I had overdid the hotel brekkie so agreed reluctantly). Menu was limited & we were offered the Buffet - pasta n pizza but we didn't fancy it though my wife thought it may be better value due to the greaty overpriced menu. She opted for baked potato & tuna, the kids selected "fresh focaccia" with tuna, & as i didnt fancy the sound of the soup I chose the "mixed platter" starter.

The wifes potato was cremated outside and the micro had done overtime on the inner as it was solid (not raw but overdone). The kids had what can only be described as deep fried pizza base, still dripping in oil. The tuna for all came like a soup. All runny & sloshing about the place. However all seemed to like the taste. My ahem platter - consisted of 2 breaded mushrooms, 1 breaded haggis bite, 1 breaded mozarella stick and 1 other breaded item which I couldn't work out what it was. 5 items at £5 - I know simple maths but a quid a piece when they have obviously popped down to Iceland & bought a bag of each for that.

Piece de resistance was when a couple of tourists came in for a cone - the woman left to pay was clearly flabbergasted when asked for £5.60 - the look on her face was priceless - much like the gold platted wafers. In short take the weans for a MacDonalds.
