“Wow!”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

Definitely #1 of 1 restaurant in Langon. I ended up in this restaurant on a Sunday noon in February. The whole village was closed. It looked like a ghost town. I parked the car near a McDonald's sign and only had two choice: Try yet another Tripadvisor suggestion hoping it would be open on Sunday, or walk to McDonald's. I walked to Darroze first. The place is modest and small, but the cuisine is excellent. I was impressed by the service too: up to high-end French restaurant standards yet empathic and friendly.

“Worth visiting.”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

Our group of six enjoyed dinner here in September. The service was excellent and the food was what we had expected of a Michelin starred restaurant. While we really did enjoy our evening it could have been better if there had been more atmosphere in the restaurant. The room was a little dated but this is a minor negative. All in all it was great value and the food was very nice.

“The whole experience of eating”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

In college, I had a philosophy professor that ascertained that preparing our meals and eating them was one of the most important things that separate human kind from the rest of the animals in the Planet, and that it should be looked upon as one of the most important ceremonies in our daily endeavours. Never have I agreed more with this notion, specially after enjoying a carefully prepared gourmet dinner accompanied by excellent wine and great conversation with friends, sorrounded by the perfect environment. I will remember this restaurant not for the details of the exquisite meal but by the whole experience before, during and after dinner.
My deepest thanks to the owner of the Claude Darroze, who I suspect oversees the restaurant operations as well as those of the hotel.

“Delicious food”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We had a lovely 4 course meal here while on our honeymoon. The food was as you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant and we had a lovely evening.

“Truly outstanding”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday night in Bordeaux when most restaurants are closed. What a lucky find for us. If you are anywhere close on your travels in France this is a must do. I had the asparagus risotto and duck en papiotte followed by grand marnier souffle. All outstanding.
