“Close to airport”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Stayed with wife and two kids in family room over night with 8 days parking.

Dinner was good and kids ate free

Room a little small but adequate

The bus to the airport was going to be £9 and go via south terminal (we were going North) so we took a taxi at 4.30 am that cost £6.

My car had been moved whilst away and was a long walk from the hotel to recover it.

Driving its only 5 mins from terminal

We stayed here for one night together with an eight day parking package. We found the hotel easily and parked the car at the rear of the hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. The room we were allocated was on one of the upper floors. The room was quiet, immaculately clean, spacious, the bed reasonably comfortable ( lets face it there is nothing quite like your own bed ), tea and coffee provided and a very good shower available. As we arrived quite late ( about ten p.m. ) and left early ( about five a.m. ) we did not eat here so I cannot comment on this, but there seemed to be a variety of options available. The shuttle bus that transfered us to the airport was on time and only stopped once at another hotel on the way to the airport. When we returned we caught the shuttle bus back to the hotel and picked up the car without any problems. I would book this hotel again if I was in a similar situation in the future.

Not a long review as only spent 12 hours here.
Checked in and for some reason we were give a disabled room on the ground floor, we didn't complain as we were only staying the night, so obviously it being an airport hotel all you want is a good nights sleep... Well you won't get one here .... the beds are terrible .... Please please please invest in some decent beds and mattresses .... All people use your hotel for is to sleep and park there car for a week or two , oh and I wasn't too happy about my car being moved and parked outside the barriers of your car park where any tom dick or harry off the street could have access to it !!!!!
Sort your parking out and your beds and I might return but until then I'll choose elsewhere !!!!

Dear Guest,

Thank You for your review. You will be pleased to hear that we have recently completed a replacement of all of our beds meaning that all of our beds meet our high standards. In regards to your parking comment whilst one of the pick up areas is outside of the main bariered area it is still within our secured site covered by CCTV and our regular patrols.

Kind Regards,

Luke Sturman - Operations Manager

We stayed one night before our flight and had paid for the 15 day parking package. It was quite hard to find a parking space for the car as the car park was heaving, with cars parked all over the place including on the grass verges. Also, there was no proper signage as to where to park if you were leaving your car there and we struggled to find the correct parking site. Had it been any darker, we would have probably given up!!

Check-in was quick and easy. Our room (on the ground floor) was fine but the carpet was old and worn and we could not get any hot air out of the air-con unit and spent a very cold night. We did not use the restaurant but did have drinks in the bar and they were very expensive.

Check-out in the morning was again very quick and we caught the shuttle to the airport with no problems. On our return we did not wait for the shuttle but got a taxi to the hotel. We found our car with no trouble and had a quick get-away.

Overall we were pleased with our stay and experience at the hotel and would use it again.

Had a lovely stay here with my family before going on holiday. Got here early and had a really nice meal after drinks in the garden before dinner. Really welcoming staff and the food was amazing. Will most certainly stay here again.

The hotel is easy to get to once you know which Holiday Inn you are in! There are 2 proper Holiday Inn and a budget one! There is a Gatwick airport shuttle bus service that takes you to all of them. They are all called Holiday Inn Gatwick.
Other than that, the room I was given (438) was good and spacious. Toilet is old but clean. Although my room faces the front road, it is surprising quiet. Resturant has a good range and the staff are very friendly. Was caught out by the inclusion of service charge in the bill but well, it is London.

I stayed here for one night in January 2012 with my husband before our honeymoon to Cuba. We went to the airport first to drop off our cases, and it was very easy to get to the Holiday Inn from the airport on a shuttle bus - I cant remember the cost but it wasn't much and they were frequent. Our room was nice and pretty much the standard hotel room. Wi-Fi access was not free though and it was annoying having to pay for that. We had a meal in the restaurant at the hotel and it was a pretty standard, slightly overpriced meal, but nothing to complain about. Special mention also to the lovely manager of the restaurant, he was very attentive and friendly. In the morning we had an early flight and got the shuttle bus back to the airport, which was quite early, but again there were no problems and tickets could be brought on the bus or from reception. Overall a standard but nice airport hotel.
