“No Issues”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2011

As most people do we stayed here for one night and included 8 days parking, at £160 it was not the cheapest but after staying in a few other hotels around the area we think it is worth it for the service you get. Good transport system, friendly staff, no issues (rooms do look and feel a bit tired and will need updating soon).

Like many other people we stayed here before leaving for our holidays and left the car here for two weeks. I'd use this hotel for this purpose again but would be less likely to use it for any other reason as there is a high turnover of guests, all times of day and night, and the hotel has a kind of bus terminal feel to it. Check in staff were polite, and for the most part effective although I was told the wrong location for my car when we got back. Somebody did try to help me find it though. The room was pretty normal Holiday Inn standard, and to be honest as we only used it from about 10.30pm until 2.45 am, it was fine. We ate in the bar area where a flustered and overworked waitress called Lal did her very best to serve us, but obviously could have done with some help. There is a system where the table have call buttons for service which would have been great if there were 3 times as many people waiting table. Food was ok, we just had veggie burgers and chips. We paid typical hotel prices for the food.
We caught the shuttle bus to and from the airport, which ran every 30 mins during the night and every 15mins during the day. It was a fair walk from the bus-stop to the airport terminal, and on our return trip the driver wasn't very helpful to people who were confused about which bus to catch.
The car was safe at the hotel but as I mentioned, not where reception said it would be.
I paid about £120 for the overnight stay plus two weeks parking.
I would use the hotel again for the same purpose.
I hope you find this review useful.

We booked this hotel because it offered park and fly and we needed somewhere close to the airport to fly early the next morning. The hotel offers an attractive package - but makes its money on everything else - food and drink in particular. A small glass of wine at £7.00p is just an indication of what you can expect to pay. However what really upset us was that the bus ride (now a private operator) with £5.00 per ticket took ages. Firstly the busses are meant to run every 15 minutes - we waited 40 minutes and then had to sit on a highly crowded bus for 20 minutes - with people be turned away and told to wait! Then when we arrived at North Terminal it dropped us at a stand about 15 minutes walk from the terminal building! So all in all not a pleasant experience.

We were given a "Handicap Persons Room", on the ground floor which was very large and spacious. Perhaps they were full, and this was all that was available. Suited us nicely. Gorgeous bath!! Nice, well maintained, spotless room. Good bar with long hours, to suit the late travellers. Fabulous breakfast, with excellent waiting staff, to show you to a table. Food replenished frequently, and a cook to cook the eggs as required - nice touch. Efficient reception staff. Complimentary bus from the Airport to the Hotel and it seemed to run very frequently with a helpful driver. Would highly recommend this Hotel, we were very impressed,

Modern hotel, convenient for Gatwick airportwith good bar.

However, the very small reception area and low ceilings throughout the hotel, along with often noisy holiday makers who are waiting to catch a flight, pushes this hotel to the bottom of my preferred hotels. The Crowne Plaza Gatwick is definitely worth the extra money as they offer a much higher standard along with pool & health club.

Stayed here for just 1 night prior to flying from Gatwick.
Check in was quick staff friendly, parking straightforward, (had to leave key) car was waiting at front on return, smoking rooms available. Went to the Olde Six Bells (10 minute walk) for dinner food there was very good, it was Sunday night and it was very busy.

Had a very enjoyable stay at this good quality airport hotel. The room was spotless, room service quick and the food tasty - which I have often found room service not to be. I booked this on priority points and I only wish every points system was as simply and well-managed as Priority Club. I got an automatic upgarde due to the number of points I had acquired recently and the check-in and check out were brilliantly quick. It is nice to see a loyalty scheme work and have a nice hotel stay into the bargain.
