“Comfortable beds”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

I stayed here for one night and was greeted by a friendly lady on reception who told me everything I needed to know. I went to my room and the bed was extremely comfortable. However the laminate flooring, combined with cracked windows which wouldn't close properly, led to a very cold room. The clock radio which was constantly on (and therefore had to be unplugged to stop it!) was an annoyance too.

The bar was quaint and comfortable, but the internet access wasn't available due to a 'fault'. The receptionist/barman was quite rude and seemed uninterested in guests.

Breakfast however was really great. Piping hot food, well prepared and cheap too.

Despite the comfy bed and nice breakfast, I would recommend staying somewhere else given the chance.

Stayed here for just one night after landing very late at Gatwick airport. Clean, comfortable bedroom with good shower room and excellent breakfast.
Speedy return to the airport next morning for a small fee. Altogether it suited my purpose and I shall be returning later in the year.

Used this hotel for a nights stay and 16 days car parking. Can't understand the negative comments from some people regarding the decor etc. It isn't the sort of place where you are going to spend more than a couple of nights in because like many others, it is convenient for Gatwick airport and that is surely why you would book to stay there?
I agree that some of the hotel is in need of a slight update, but overall a reasonably good place to stay for a reasonable cost. The bar/restaurant has a limited selection of food, but why try to have an extensive menu - it works very well how they do it.
Excellent airport transfers to and from (free) and friendly staff. I have already booked a room for my next trip in April 2013.

Transport to the airport was fast and efficient. And that's all I can say that's good. The hotel is shabby to say the least; peeling wallpaper, laminate flooring in room, tiny shower, dingy restaurant and no hot water - we were told the boiler was not working but no recompense for a cold shower. The staff were friendly and helpful with the exception of the owner whom we found surley and unhelpful. Find somewhere else to stay.

Use this hotel several times a year for parking. Almost always faultless, save for the odd very slightly surly staff member (admittedly, this isn't typical). Generally very, very good. Can't complain. Have recommended to family and friends and will continue to use again.
Brilliant location and good transfer services!
Good management. They know their trade and always willing to help.

After being away for over year it was to be an interesting return to see how the hotel had changed, if at all. The young lady on the reception was new and her pleasant attitude and helpfulness was very much appreciated. A good addition to the staff.
Food was very good along with the service, staff and chefs do credit to the hotel. My wife has eaten steaks here for the last five years and never complained yet.! Overall the standard has improved in my opinion and some "top class" hotels need to raise their standard to that of the Gatwick Belmont. Traffic passing on the road at the front of the hotel can be disturbing if you are a light sleeper or not used to road noises, if you are, just request a room away from the front.

Warning, book via the hotel direct, if not sure of the web site just call direct to the hotel, otherwise it becomes expensive.

Will continue to stay here when travelling as every thing is very comfortable.

Room Tip: If light sleeper ask for a room away from the front of the hotel.

just back from a 1 night stay and park.
I'm very surprised that some reviewers were unhappy with staff who we found to be very helpful and pleasant. pick up from airport was prompt and the polish lady (sorry i missed the name) was extremely friendly and on knowing we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us with 2 small children following a long haul flight happily invited us to tea and coffee.
would certainly use in the future.
Triple rooms also made it a good option for us.
