We were given a voucher for afternoon tea as a gift. Although this hotel was difficult to find (our sat nav really struggled!), we found this hidden gem of a listed Elizabethan Manor at the end of a rather scruffy road.

The tea was just right. Bite sized sandwiches and cakes plus a scone each. Not too much to be off putting. All served on a three tiered cake stand. We were seated on comfy chairs in a small lounge and as we were the only ones there, felt like 'Kings in a castle'!

A great experience.

We stayed in May the night before we flew out to Croatia. Beautiful venue. Got upgraded to a Junior Suite but it didn't really live up to its name. We had a 5 course taster menu which was excellent. The hotel has so much character, but I feel a little over priced. It was nice to stay t a hotel away from the airport and they also looked after the car for a week at a very reasonable price.

Very pleasant hotel surroundings and rooms - very friendly helpful staff. We had the 5 course taster menu which was lovely but rather small quantities and breakfast included with our voucher. Ideal for a couples retreat - although Drinks very expensive.

This is a beautiful house with a lovely garden, but is it really worth the price?
At this price, one would at least expect a good nights sleep. The main bed was comfortable enough, but the extra bed was horrible. It was like sleeping on nails - that is, if one could sleep...
Another issue was the noise. We could easily hear people walking around above our heads. This is understandable considering how old the buildings are, but again: how can it not effect the enormous prices?
All over, the cleanliness was average, because the teacups were not properly clean. We had to wash them before we could use them! Again, it is not a big issue, but it does affect the overall impression of the hotel.
The dinner and breakfast was very nice, taken in such beautiful surroundings. The room was big and comfortable, especially the enormous bathroom and the lovely garden in front of our room, but we would have expected more considering the price and location.

Our family of three used a "buyagift" afternoon tea voucher at Langshot Manor. We last visited/stayed at the hotel a number of years previously and very much enjoyed our brief overnight stay so were keen to return. Afternoon tea included a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes with tea and coffee. It was served on the terrace overlooking the gardens. The afternoon was warm and sunny and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and welcoming and food was nicely presented and tasty. Gardens are an attractive feature of the property, being in the cottage garden style with a variety of seating areas.

Hotel is tucked away from the hustle of Horley. Land alongside the road leading to the Manor is undergoing a fair bit of building work, but don't let that put you off....once you arrive it will be an enjoyable visit. The hotel is part of a small privately owned group which operate Alexander House and Rowhill Grange, Buyagift tea vouchers can be used at these venues too I believe.

Room Tip: The manor itself has 7 rooms. The recently built mews buildings offer a good range of modern and com...

We too had an Amazon local voucher (around £170) which included luxury room, 5 course tasting menu and breakfast.
We visited last weekend and had an overall lovely stay. We stayed in the Anne of Cleaves room, I believe they must have upgraded us. The room itself was spacious and overlooking the Moat, 2 chairs and a table, desk, tv and DVD player. The bathroom was big with double sinks but as mentioned in previous reviews the wallpaper probably needs re-doing as it was peeling away in places. Nice fluffy robes and slippers which would be great for colder weather, also hair dryer and ironing board which is useful. There is no air con but they had provided fans for this unusual English heat wave!
The check-in process was smooth and the very friendly girl at reception showed us to our room and also to our table at dinner.
We played croquet on the lawn outside our room which we thoroughly enjoyed- we did have to look up the rules and setup on our phones (so perhaps this could be provided by the hotel for other guests?) Also sat in the picturesque gardens by the pond watching the ducks with a glass of prosecco. Saw people having afternoon tea outside too which looked quite good.
Dinner was nice, however the portions were truly tiny. Starter was a cold gazpacho type soup, followed by a Moroccan style lamb with cous cous (ie 1 small slice of lamb and a square of cous cous!) Main was fillet of sea bream Nicoise style-which was presented beautifully with a crispy skin and served with ?quails eggs, potatoes, green beans and tomatoes. Dessert was a slice of lemon tart with a raspberry sorbet. I think course 5 would have been the petit fours, we didn't receive any unfortunately. The bread was delicious, including one with herbs from the garden.

Breakfast in the morning was a very nicely cooked full English. There only seemed to be one waitress so we did have to wait a while to order after going to get the menus ourselves.
So, in summary we did have a lovely time but would rate 'very good' rather than 'excellent' due to the small portions at dinner and occasional slow service. We also paid a £60 on check out for service charges at dinner and breakfast and for 2 glasses prosecco which is perhaps a bit high.
We would return, but only on a deal and would prefer to eat a la carte in the restaurant as the dishes other diners were having seemed of a decent size and looked delicious.

Arranged through Amazon voucher for 5 course meal and overnight stay.
Lovely hotel in picturesque settings with very professional friendly staff.
Room was very nice and comfortable and exactly what you would expect from a 4 star establishment. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
