We have stayed here before almost exactly 10 years ago when we stayed before our flight to St Lucia to get married and it was just perfect so this hotel and our memories of then had a lot to live up to. 10 years later and we were not disappointed, it was just as we remembered it, we used the hotel on our return from Mexico and as it was an overnight flight we didn’t want to drive all the way back north so stayed at Langshot. We arrived in the UK earlier than check in allowed but the reception desk were very accommodating and made us tea while they made the room ready and allowed us to check in a little earlier than normal. This was great as we had a chance to catch a couple of hours sleep before freshening up for dinner that evening in the restaurant. The room was stunning with a view over the duck pond, an open log fire and four poster bed, all very comfortable. The food here is AMAZING, we have experienced some very good restaurants in our time but this is just sublime. The service was very good from all the staff and we can't wait to go back.

We were invifed to dine there by my wife's mother and we were embarraseed for her.
We were served very small tasteless starters and 2 of the main courses were bland, tepid and without a sauce that might have given the monk fish dish a bit of a lift.
The attitude of the head waiter was overbearing and the fuss made about the service charge fee added to the billis is an unwelcomed remindrer of the poor service. The tablecloth was full of wine marks by the end of the meal which were all made by the untrained waitress.
Very overpriced for the poor quality.

Dear Guest

Many thanks for taking the time to add your review following your recent dining experience in the Mulberry Restaurant. I am very dissapointed to read that your meal did not meet or exceed your expectations. I have raised the service issues with my team and am confident that this has been rectified. However I would like to strongly disagree that our food is bland and tastless and we receive many great reviews and comments that also would disagree. Had you rasied these issues at the time I am confident that we could have offered you an alternative meal.

I do hope that this experience has not deterred you from returning to Langshott Manor on the future.

Kind Regards

what a beautiful historic building (1580s), with impeccable service from the front desk to the table and beyond.
The food for both dinner and breakfast was sheer quality throughout and the whiskey porridge is definately worth checking out.
it is ideal as a stopover for Gatwick airport too.

We got married at Langshott eight years ago so went back (yet again) for our anniversary. Had a room in the stable block described as a standard room but compared to our recent experiences with various Hand-picked Hotels this was far above standard. Had the gastronomic experience meal which was stunning and included in our price deal and the staff were great about moving us when a fellow guest came in who had apparently bathed in one of Boots special offer perfumes, making it impossible to taste the food.
I love this place which is like having a week convalescence in a night.

Room Tip: We've never had a bad one and must have stayed in about ten of them!

Stayed mid week, impromptu last minute work requirement and what a treat. Great service, charming rooms with great detail.
Service came with a genuine smile, great welcome from Lisa showing me to my room. Yvonne and Ross in the morning carried on the standard set.
Highly recommend, whislt I didn't eat in the hotel, looking forward to next stay when i will ensure i do.

Langshott Manor Hotel, Ladbroke Road Horley, Surrey RH6 8PB, United Kingdom

My wife and I, this year, booked a holiday in the Mediterranean and felt it sensible to break our return journey at Gatwick; as a treat my wife booked us into the Langshott Manor Hotel for a couple of nights. I must say upfront it was not cheap, however I consider it was excellent value. At Langshott Manor we were treated to the sort of service I had almost come to believe had disappeared from the UK.
The main building of the hotel dates back to the reign of the first Elizabeth, but we were in a room in a converted outhouse, I suspect a stable block. The room was both quiet and luxurious. Personally I found the bed a little soft, but I did sleep like a log. The bath was a proper length and the complimentary toiletries a pleasure to use. Towelling bathrobes and slippers were provided for our use. Unusually the in-room beverage facilities included a cafetiere and ground coffee rather than instant, a major plus point! The wifi was a little hit and miss, but better in the main building, and the television had access to a fair range of digital channels. The room service menu, which we didn’t use, was reasonable and the tray charge not excessive.
Although we did not take dinner in the hotel we had afternoon tea, breakfast twice, and lunch on the day we left. Apart from one undercooked poached egg, which looked perfect from the outside, the food was excellent. There was a mix up on the luncheon because the hotel had failed to include a vegetarian option in the fixed menu. However they were happy to provide an alternative from the a la carte menu and, because of a delay, a complimentary and rather wonderful veloute of artichoke with salsify.
The billing was a little bit of a rigmarole as they had missed some items off the bill, while including our lunch main course at the a la carte price. However the manager accepted their error on the menu and made the adjustment. After observing how the matter of the undercooked egg was handled, I am confident that is one mistake they won’t make again. Particularly impressive is the way they go out of their way to adjust to the customers’ individual requirements and make good any perceived deficiency. The manager offered to take off the service charge after lunch, but we refused because the service was worth every penny.
