We stayed overnight in between Heathrow and Gatwick flights and it really was a pleasure from start to finish. Despite being between five and ten minutes to Gatwick the hotel has a real country feel, with lovely grounds. The rooms are well appointed, the food excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

It is not cheap as an option for an airport layover but it is worth every penny.

I have to admit, sometimes you find a location or a venue which just makes you feel....perfect. Langshott manor is one of those places. Welcome, warming and truly stunning grounds with that make you feel part of history but appreciate the present. I stayed here on business whilst working in Crawley and the experience was one I won't forget and look forward to experiencing again. After spending some time appreciating the venue itself , the real treat of visiting langshott manor begins in the evening. In the restaurant. I can see why the food is award winning, I experienced a three course meal from heaven that HAS to be experinced. I could not recommend this venue enough. It's elegant, relaxing, welcoming and a real luxury. If you stayed here regularly, you may actually believe you were a King. Sublime.

We stayed overnight before our flight to cancun. The room was in the actual old part of the hotel the Lewes suite. This room was great as i had requested a garden view room,i also ordered a beautiful red rose which was waiting in the room.I had my own Cava bought at Gatwick ready chilled as we arrived at Gatwick that morning, even though the hotel does champagne it`s pricey.
The grounds where very scenic but i thought the rose beds could have done with some more roses and a splash more colour round the back garden.
We ate at the restaurant in the evening and had the tasting menu,it was £50 pound a head but well worth it, just beware service charge is added to the bill ,the food was delicious and i`m a chef i can recommend it.Drinks are on the expensive side but what we did was to take a walk into Horley at lunch time, theres a little shortcut through a housing estate and then you go under a railway underpass takes about 15 mins max and we found a wetherspoons pub called the "Fairman Jack". The food was great and the drink a lot cheaper hence we staggered back to the hotel later after a long session of drinking in the afternoon.
All the staff we met at Langshott were very polite and courteous, check in and out was smooth. We were given a complimentary pot of tea as we arrived early to check in which i thought was a nice touch.
If i had one little gripe it would be the bar menus and the key tags would be better laminated as they were a little grubby around the edges.
I would definately return to Langshott manor again if flying from Gatwick it is just worth that bit more expense and is truly a very picturesque hotel that i would not hesitate to recommend to my friends.

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the old building The Lewes suite is excellent.

Here's something different - a great character hotel conveniently located for Gatwick Airport. This was our second stay at Langshott Manor; we stayed here to catch an early morning flight from the airport.

Our first stay was a special occasion with friends when we ate in the restaurant and had the seven course tasting menu - their Gastronomic Break. It was superb in every way. Our room was one of the Classic Rooms in the old part of the house; huge and luxurious. Truly memorable for all the right reasons.

It can be hard to find - down a narrow lane with only a small sign - and we had to phone the hotel for directions on our first visit. But definitely worth it!

Room Tip: Ignore all the other dreary airport hotels around Gatwick - this is the place to stay.

How very English! Beautiful country hotel just a stones-throw from Gatwick.

Rooms in the main, oldey-worldey building, as well as in separate blocks adjacent. Lots of beams and snug little corners, the sort of place out of a film set. Country gardens complete with croquet lawn and a little stream. Plenty of shady spots to sit amongst the flowers and have afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches… or maybe a glass of Pimms?

Excellent service, fantastic food, fabulous location. Highly recommended.
