“Excellent food”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

This pub definitely serves the best pub grub. The food is fresh and portion sizes are huge and its excellent value. unfortunately the pub is small so seating is very uncomfortable. During the week you need to book a table as its right beside the Holiday inn so it's always busy

“Good service, reasonable priced, tasty food.”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Often go here for a drink after work as its good to stop in on.

Food is great, nice variety and always well executed, had a lovely steak and ale pie one night, last night had Sea Bream off the specials board - perfectly cooked and would really recommend.

The portions are huge, good quality and very reasonably priced. Staff always very assistive.

Mixture of locals and tourists waiting for their flights home.

only downside I would say is no music - would create a bit more atmosphere. Also, we were charged for drinks that we ordered but never received one time - genuine mistake on the staffs behalf and the matter was cleared quickly with no hassle.

“Top quality food”

Always made welcome and the food is freshly cooked to order and the drink is always nice, a bit of gem in an other wise dull part of the airport area, with good access and a secure car park a real credit to the owners,

“An unlikely place to find a little gem”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

It could be in the grounds of the Holiday Inn, M4 J4 but it isn't. It almost is. There's a handy bus-stop right outside, on the Sipson Road, even handier is the decent-sized carpark, complete with CCTV.
My wife and I previously tried to get to eat in The Plough but failed to make a reservation: our mistake. We did manage to get a table on Valentine's Day and we are both very pleased that we did.
The staff are welcoming and friendly [something sadly not-obviously-apparent in all the Sipson villlage pubs!], the bar cosy, snug even. They keep a few very good Real Ales and they keep them well: I can vouch for the London Pride and the Greene King IPA.

The food is very good indeed.

Our choice was for a shared Nachos [the locals spell it Natchos] which was generous and tasty. A fun 'nibble' to occupy us as we looked around this busy hostelry. My wife chose the Prawn Cocktail [a very good version of this traditional dish, which seems to be enjoying a resurrected trendiness] while I selected the succulent deep-fried Calamari as a Starter

Main Course for me was an excellent Lamb Shank with absolutely-perfect vegetables [Cauliflower, Broccoli, Carrots and creamy mashed Potato]. My wife was pleased to have chosen the spicy Chicken Curry.

Service was a little hesitant but very charming, the friendly bar-and-waiting staff were keen to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We shall return. We shall remember to book.

“Good well priced food, large portions and good beer”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

About a miles walk from hotel on Bath road to this pub. Start serving at 6pm and arrived at 5 so had a decent pint of IPA, as per British tradition not chilled. Traditional decor greets and they do table service which is good. A decent menu to choose from and exceedingly well priced. Decent ribeye well cooked, way too much food for me on the day, totally recommend as a much better option than the hotels for food.
