Crowne Plaza Hotel London-Heathrow
Ranked #3 of 12 Hotels in West Drayton
Reviewed November 20, 2012

We've been staying at the Crowne Plaza at Heathrow on a regular basis now for about 10 years, so this review is long overdue. We have occasionally tried other hotels, but always seem to prefer this one. We are Priority Club members and quite often get upgraded to the club rooms on the 4th floor, which are very nice, with very comfortable beds, nice toiletries, bathrobe etc. However the ordinary rooms are a good standard too and once when our room had a lot of faults( which is very unusual for this hotel) such as TV not working, aircon not working, amongst other problems, we were very quickly upgraded to a suite, which was fab. Massive spa bath and enormous bed, fruit, magazines, and it was all sorted with a minimum of fuss.
I would definitely recommend the club rooms, if you can get one at the right price, as the club lounge is very pleasant, with drinks, including spirits and fizzy. Also nibbles and canapes, but they appear to have cut down on the amount of canapes in the last couple of years. Still a very nice place to while away an hour or two before eating. The food and drink in the hotel is quite expensive, but certainly no dearer than any other airport hotel and is to be expected. We ate in Eriki during our last stay which was nice, but not outstanding and the portions weren't that generous. However it was perfectly acceptable.
The reason for writing this review now is that I would like to comment on the help and service we received from the staff on our last visit in October this year. We stupidly left 2 items of luggage in the taxi that brought us back from the airport, a black cab, which wasn't affiliated to the hotel which made it very difficult to track down, as you can imagine. However with the help of the lovely taxi driver and the duty manager of the Crown Plaza, we were reunited with our cases. The lady in question is called Fatima, I believe, and I apologize if I have the spelling wrong. She was efficient, courteous and very helpful, just what we needed during that really quite stressful 24 hours! I would like to thank her and the other staff very much and it's nice to know that hotel staff can be very, very good indeed, when there is so much written about people who just can't be bothered nowadays.

Stayed at The Crown Plaza Heathrow for a connecting flight the next day. Bus from terminal building took around 15 minutes. ropped off at the door. Very pleasant reception staff and checked in quickly. Room was more than ample for our needs. Large bed and the best ever duvet I have ever had(will need to email them to find out what kind it is). Room was very clean and liked the nice touch with the box of two sleep aids. One spray for your pillow and the other was a rub on.Bar prices very pricey and a glum barman on duty. Smiley helpful girl also on duty. Early morning automatice call ws then backed up with a call from reception. Good idea. As we were leaving 15 minuted before breakfast started and had asked the lovely lady on duty when it started, she kindly made us up two rolls with massive amounts of bacon(which were eaten on the bus to the airport. Thank you very much to Izzy. Would recommend to anyone to stay.

We are pleased to hear your stay was a pleasant one and that you enjoyed the benefits of the SleepAdvantage program for the Crowne Plaza Hotels. The bed kit is called This Works:Sleep, which is a wonderful way to relax just before falling asleep in our plush duvets and luxurious sheets.

Also we appreciate your comments about our Izzy and the service provided on your departure. Izzy was very pleased when she read your comments.

Relaxing, comfortable place to stay. Stayed here with my family for a weekend before they saw me off on a business trip. Pool facilities are excellent. Rooms v comfortable. Service good. Only criticsm was of the Erika Indian restaurant, where initial service was bit slow considering it was nearly empty, and atmosphere a bit 'chilly' in several senses of the word. Food was good, but menu difficult to interpret if you not familiar with Indian cuisine

Having stayed in a few Crowne Plaza's I was not sure what to expect for an airport hotel. This hotel is not as new as some, but the decor and standards are good and rooms are very big with a desk and sofa bed. Plenty of space for relaxing, and a good choice of restaurants on site. We tried the Eriki restaurant (Indian food) and the food was very good but service a bit slow and impersonal even though there appeared to be only one other table eating. The pub on site looked cosy though.
Rooms were clean and the bed was as Crowne Plaza standard, very comfortable.
Check in and out was good but when we left to go out there were very long queues and a few coaches arriving so pick your time to check in or out and you'll probably get a better experience.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza before flying out of London Heathrow.

Normally I would write war and peace as to the highs and lows, good and bad points, but this hotel made life a lot easier as everything was good.

We will definitely stay again when we next fly out of the capital.

Nice clean, big, quiet room just what we needed before an early flight.

Used the swimming pool and sauna and both were relatively quiet and was nice to chill for the afternoon.

If you get access or book a rate with the exec lounge access, this is a nice quiet place for a drink of the evening and the staff are very attentive.

Ate in the Irish bar and that was busy but did the basics like sarnies and burgers.

Check in and out was very friendly and efficient.

Room was quiet and we slept well.

Breakfast on the Saturday started at 6 and everything was up and ready to go.

Will stay again.
