Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport
Ranked #4 of 12 Hotels in West Drayton
Reviewed July 18, 2013

I'm giving it three stars because I was travelling with two other parties and their rooms did not have the problems that mine did. I think most rooms are probably better so had I been in a different room, I might have given this property a 4. Without being with the other people, I would have given it a two.
We had issues right at check-in. We were put in a room without a sofa bed, even though our reservation was for one. Our room was all the way down one long hallway. The front desk was very friendly and put us in a different room and pointed in the opposite direction for us to find our room. Because we had 5 suitcases and the hotel has many fire doors this was a lot of maneuvering. We were now on a higher floor, and when we reached it, we could not find our room. We were in the wrong part of the building. We were supposed to have taken the elevators right in the lobby. With our luggage and the long hallways, it took us over a half hour to eventually get to our room from our original check-in.
Our room was fine but the bathroom was in need of repair. The grout was very mildew and the tiles in the bathroom were cracked. I think they had had a water problem in that bathroom. I even wondered if it was usually used for quests. I even asked at check-out but then seemed surprised that I thought there was a problem. The bed was also very uncomfortable and in need of replacement.
Again, I felt the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly, every time I had a question.

A good well known chain with comfortable rooms. This is no different.
The hotel is located on Bath Road, which is the main road just outside of the airport. Most main airport hotels are located on this road.
The hotel promotes the "hopper" bus at a very expensive rate. Do not bother. If your coming from Heathrow central bus station, located between terminals 1 and 3, catch the number 111 bus and any other bus from that stand. Its no more then 2 stops and the bus stop is almost right outside. If coming from Terminal 5, catch the 423 bus. The bus is also free within the Heathrow area. Just state to the driver your destination.
Returning from the hotel, the first bus stop in view towards the left as you leave the hotel is the bus stop for terminal 5. Walk further down the road for the bus stop for central bus station.

Check-in is always busy due to the location of the hotel, however it does not help matters at how small it is either. You may be in for a little wait and rushed reception staff, but its a pressured environment for them trying to not have people waiting in line for too long.

I stayed in a twin room and the rooms have what one would expect. Air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a TV with a range of channels and an iron. Rooms are of a reasonable size and do have air conditioning.
Bathrooms are adequate and provide complimentary bath gels. Further items are avaliable from reception (complimentary) on request, including tooth brushes, tooth paste, combs and sanitary products. A full bath is also here.

The downside of the rooms is general wear and tear, which I would expect given how busy the hotel seems to be. A refresh would not go a miss but as its only small cosmetic things, it should not harm your stay.

Breakfast is chargeable and is served on the ground floor, although we did not partake.

If your staying over at Heathrow and want somewhere clean, comfortable and trustworthy, then I would recommend here. The only reason I did not mark this review 4/5 is because of the cosmetic wear and tear.

Room Tip: If you want to view planes, ask for a room above the first floor looking towards Bath road. Rooms pr...

So why 4 stars instead of 3? Because it was better than expected. We were able to have our child with us, and the room was bigger than I expected. The front desk was quite nice, and it is clear that people who have to stay at Heathrow return to this hotel. It was quiet and we would have slept well had we not been so excited to be returning home. Excellent hotel taxi service to the airport. If you have to take a taxi order it through the hotel, it's cheaper, and very nice!

The rooms service is not great, so try to eat before you get to the hotel. The Chicken Tikkah was good, but the steak, not so much.

I was expecting a no-frills bed provider (for the low charge). What I found delighted me.

The staff are immensely friendly. This isn't just one of those "they spoke politely" experiences. I mean friendly as if they were respectful, liked you, and were your actual friends.

Food was incredibly good. Not sure why I had gotten the ideas that they didn't provide evening food, but they do... and it's good.

Quiet room (effective noise-reducing glazing) and cool.

I'm very happyhere this night before my flight.

We stayed here one night prior returning to US from two weeks in Europe. The hotel was a good choice. It was clean and modern, with comfortable rooms that were very quiet due to sound insulating windows so that the nearby runways did not cause any problem. For convenience we ate dinner at the hotel, and found the food quite good and reasonably priced. The hotle staff was very friendly and helpful.

We took the Heathrow Hoppa bus to the hotel, and that was a bad choice. It took almost an hour to get from Terminal 1 to the hotel. When returning to Terminal 1 in the morning, we took a taxi for just a little more than the Hoppa bus (for two). The taxi clean, and very quick. Thanks to the hotel staff for the suggestion.

Stayed here just one night in transit but was impressed by the very pleasant welcome from reception and the comfort of the room and bath. This hotel is just across the road from one of the Heathrow runways, but the soundproofing is so well done that unless you are watching out the window, you can't tell a plane is going by. There were a few hiccups: the hotel had allowed coaches to park in the turnaround space in front of the hotel, and this meant that the Hotel Hoppa airport transfer buses couldn't get in to the front entrance and had to cancel their service the morning we left, and the restaurant service and food was not up to the quality of the rest of the hotel -- dry, crumbly scrambled eggs in the morning, and bland, almost tasteless food in the evening. Hint: double check to be sure the Hotel Hoppa buses are running on schedule.

We stayed here for one night as part of a coach tour. The driver had a bit of difficulty locating the correct Holiday Inn and then locating the entrance, but once we arrived everything was first class. The room was of a good size and contained all that is necessary for a good nights sleep. Although we were facing the road on the ground floor, we were not disturbed by any noise at all. Breakfast was one of the best we have encountered in this sort of hotel and if we happened to be flying from Heathrow in the future, we would not hesitate in booking here.
