“Unexpectedly Good Experience.”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

My husband and I and our Australian cousin were staying here while spending 4days visiting London,as this was our cousin's first trip to England.Transport was easy and free to Heathrow and back every day.Our rooms were more than adequate. We had an outside room and aircraft noise was not an issue. The reception staff were extremely helpful at all times. The restaurant had excellent food, which was certainly as good,if not better than a more expensive airport hotel(on the opposite side of the road) where we have stayed before. The restaurant staff were excellent. When we needed a rental car Avis was within 5 mins walk.Next time I need a hotel at Heathrow this will be my first choice.

Less than 2 hours sleep in snatches, from 9pm, despite double glazed windows closed. No joke.

we should have realised the reason why so very few people had Dinner here. Nothing like any other Holiday Inn anywhere in the world. Took more than 30 minutes for meal to be served (only 3 or 4 other diners present, so not exactly rushed off their feet !) My minute "steak pie" was served hot, but on a cold plate with cold potatoes, cold peas & a small pot of cold gravy (with skin on top). Nothing could be less appetising than this ? My husband said his pork escalope was dreadful as well as being cold, what a disgrace to serve this trash. Can't Holiday Inn afford a temperature probe ?

Room Tip: Don't stay at this hotel !

Departing Heathrow 0640 on 18 June, either meant a stupidly early start or stay nearby. The airport Hoppa bus services stops regulary so no problem getting to the terminal. I had room 263, which faces inside the circle shaped hotel. This gives a slight poor view of the inner roof & pidgeon population, but look ok at night with the various room lights on. There was some noise at night but nothing too bad. Mine was a single room, fairly small but with a bed just about big enough for two. However only two very soft pillows, so I needed both !. The bathroom was small & had a shower over the bath with a plastic curtain side, which as I always find never pulls across in the right place. The basin has old style turn taps, rather then the modern lift up ones. The hot tap took three good turns too work, not very helpfull. Overall this was the only down side. It wasnt cheap but nothing near an airport is.

Typical and average sort of hotel. Costs £12 a night to park the car. Drinks from the bar very expensive as in all British Holiday Inns. Nothing to shout about with this hotel but nothing to get too up tight over either. The mini-bar wasn't refilled, the heated towel rail didn't work. The shower was forceful and stayed the same temperature but towels were like cardboard. The cleaners were outside our room talking loudly at 7.30am to wake us up as they had nothing to do and wanted to shift us so they could get in! We didn't move out until we were ready though and when we left at 9am they were visibly uncomfortable with us. The receptionist didn't ask if our stay was OK and didn't seem to care one way or the other. A very average hotel.

Room Tip: It's a 'round' hotel so if you want a view of the planes ask for a room facing the airpo...

Excellent option for a Heathrow park and stay. The hotel is easy to find on the main Bath road and has secure parking. Rooms are spacious, good air-con, nicely appointed with usual mod cons and very comfortable beds with a choice of pillows. Spotless and pretty quiet for an airport hotel. Great power shower. The terminal shuttle buses stop right outside the hotel.

Staff are friendly and will try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The restaurant, bar and room service are typically overpriced (£8.99 for a glass of wine!) so we walked down Bath road and ate out which was considerably cheaper. I'd definitely recommend the Ariel for an airport stop over.

We stayed one night flying out of Heathrow. Plat. members so we were upgraded to a nice room with a large TV, chair, small table and desk. The bathroom had a tub. They gave us a coupon for a few drink and we had two bottles of water in the room. Coffee pot/mini fridge with drinks/snacks (fee)...No outside plane noise that we noticed
The staff was really helpful and friendly. Helped with boarding pass and internet.
We took the red (free bus number 140) and was dropped off close by. The bus has no step-flush with sidewalk so having suitcases made it alot easier. Going back to airport for flight home we did the other (4pounds each) the Hoppa bus. Since it was rainning, this bus picks you up at the door. We were first hotel and allow 20-30 minutes because they do stop at 5-6 other hotels before going to terminal 4. Same set up with easy lifting luggage on and off.
We ate in the hotel and it good, reasonable to us. We also walked down to a MacDonald (maybe a 1mile).

I stayed here because I had an overnight flight layover. I enjoyed dinner in the restaurant, with excellent, helpful service. The hotel helped me with bus information one way and taxi information the other way. The room was comfortable. All in all, it was worth it.
