“Nice enough hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights just because we were aircraft spotting at Heathrow. The rooms were very cramped, especially with the three of us in one room. The windows were too small for us. When we booked our accommodation we asked for a room with a view of the airfield but when we got there they were all full. The next day we were allowed to use a vacant room with a view until 8pm which was good but it was a fight just to get that. Apart from that it was a modern hotel, and the room was very clean. I would probably stay there again. It's perfect for people travelling the next day.

Thank you for posting your review.

I am sorry that you did not get a room with a runway view, but I hope that you got some good photos from the extra room which we gave you for your pictures. For future reference, please note that our rooms are only designed to accommodate two adults per room, and due to the size of the rooms we do not normally sell rooms for three people.

I hope that overall you enjoyed your visit, and that you will choose to stay with us again next time you come to Heathrow for plane spotting!

Kind Regards,

Richard Lee

Stopped here for one night on our way back to Australia from London. Easy to get to provided you tell TomTom the lat and long (beware - there are two IBIS hotels). Service station down the road for topping up fuel. Rooms are compact but fine for an overnight stay. Room at back of hotel so no noise from aircraft even with window ajar for fresh air (our preference). If you get the front you can watch planes land(!). Restaurant service was quick for dinner. Breakfast buffet had good variety. Terminal transfer bus stops outside but as a party of three we took the private car option. Ask for driver number 36 - excellent service.

Very convenient airport hotel, especially if you fly from terminal 1 or 3. From terminal 1&3, take the local bus 111 in central bus station for free which stops 150mrs from the hotel (this bus also has a very useful night shift). Hoppa (billable) shuttle also available.
When I have a stop over in Heathrow, Ibis hotel is one of my favourite. Rooms are very standard (Ibis 2* standards) but the breakfast buffet is large and check out is very easy and fast.
Even for a short stay in London, this hotel would be suitable as central London is easily accessible by underground (1hr) or Train (20min) from Heathrow. Just add another 15-20min time to reach the hotel (including waiting time).

We stayed in a twin room for one night as we were due to fly out at 9:15 the next day. Our flight was due to arrive at 7:15pm but didn't land until 10:30pm and after we got bags, cleared customs it was about 11pm. We had already decided to get the Hoppa bus (H56) and lucky we did arrive when we did as about 15 mins later the last bus for this route was departing. The cost was £8 return although you can get it for £7 return somewhere in the terminal.

The stop was easy enough to find with sign posts for hotel buses. The driver took us straight to the Ibis which was about a 20 min bus ride at that time of night.

Check in was straight forward and the rooms while on the smallish side are fine for a brief overnight stay. All in all a fine hotel if you're in transit.

Clean room, friendly staff, close location - what more could you ask for in an airport hotel. Just used this to stay overnight before a flight. The room was small but clean, and a good price.

Concierge was most helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast buffet looked good at a reasonable price, but we opted for Starbuck a couple of blocks away.

Location
It was about a 10min drive away from Heathrow Terminal 4 where we were flying. There are free local direct buses to Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 5 just across the road from Ibis. If you are going to Terminal 4, you will have to take the free internal terminal transfers from either Terminal 1,2 or 3. Alternatively, you can take the Hoppa bus direct from the hotel at 4 GBP per person. There's also the taxi option at 22 GBP to Terminal 4 which can fit 6 persons comfortably with luggage. The taxi was already stationed at the lobby when we booked only 10mins prior to departure.

Rooms
We stayed in 2 connecting rooms (travelling as a family). Note that if you want it to be connecting, only double beds are available for each room. No twin. There's also air conditioning in the rooms for the hot summer days. If you need heating, just turn the temperature up on the controls.

We were also happy to learn that free wifi is now available at the hotel. The free wifi is good for surfing and sending emails. If you need more bandwidth, you can pay for it.

Service
Fuss-free check in and out. Everything we expect from an Ibis establishment.
