nice caravan park, not for me to stay, but just because i live on the door step. Went there to me my brother and my nephew who were fishing there they love it(for the fishing) We had lunch in the casle food was good not great but so so cheap & you get what you pay for, wel worth the money. A great venue in the country for anyone living in a city wanting a break in the countryside.

“Great weekend but the caravan itself spoiled it for me”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

We were looking forward to a stay in a luxury, year old caravan, 23rd to 25th May. I had booked over the phone to make sure that the caravans were of a high standard, and was assured that they were as marketed on their website. We arrived at 7 on the Friday, so no staff around other than the gateman who gave us the key. We were shocked and disappointed to find ourselves driving up to a van that was at least 10 years old, no steps up to it (we had carry some from the display caravans at the entrance in the pouring rain). The curtains were all faded when opened, smacked the seat and lovely puffs of dust filled the air. Next morning I complained in the hope that they would suggest moving us or give us some recompense of some sort but they didn't do a thing. We stayed as kids had been so looking forward to it and had tickets for forbidden corner. If you intend hiring I would ring a day or two in advance to get some reassurance that you get what you pay for. Friends have just come back from haggerston castle, paid £100 less than what I did and the standard of their caravan was unbelievable in comparison.

“Weekend Break”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

Arrived yesterday for a family weekend away. Arrived at Reception on the afternoon, greeted warmly and got given our holiday information, including a map, key and what was on over the weekend - great service. We went to the Castle for a bite to eat & found lovely homemade food, and very good service too. Great value, the caravan was well priced for the weekend break. Caravan clean, warm, dry and just about everything is included in the caravan itself.

Will definitely return, shame about the weather this weekend but hey... Its England!
Really enjoying it.#

“Disgraceful!!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

I don't normally make reviews, but Witton castle has to be an exception for this. The grounds are lovely and the ground staff do a very good job in keeping the areas clean. But the site manager, he's arrogant, sarcastic and doesn't engage in talking to you if he doesn't agree with the topic, and would rather play on his phone than talk to you. The castle is a lovely building with great decor, but the food is dreadful. We have been here to eat a few times, and twice the food has cam out barely warm, and thirdly out Sunday lunch pork was very dry and tasteless. The staff within the castle didn't seem interested as they didn't ask how our food was, and when we did tell them all we got was 'ok, I'll pass it on to the chef'. Really? Is this how you would want someone to make a repeat visit to your establishment. The bar manager (if that's what you call him) is really rude! He's either walking around trying to make himself look busy, talking to the staff like rubbish, or hiding out in the courtyard having a cigarette. Why would you want to eat somewhere where the staff smell of smoke? Will never visit here again.

“Lovely food”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

Visited for Sunday Lunch with family, staying in a hire caravan at the moment.

Service 5* - from the minute we arrived we were warmly greeted by reception and directed to our caravan.

We settled in easily, a lot nicer than we assumed they would be, spacious and clean. Everything is included apart from towels and tea towels, so great for light travelling.

Food in the castle is great, well priced and great value for money. Nice portion sizes.

Waiting for the film on Tuesday night, The Italian Job. Had a sneek peak and think it's fantastic.

Hopefully the rest of the week will be just as good as the last couple of days!
