This was our second visit to Plum Tree and this time the weather was really against us , but once again stepping into this lovely cottage is such a joy. So clean so inviting all needs catered for a feeling of peace and love . Hubby managed to catch a Sea Trout despite the torrential rain , and I caught up with my neglected reading . Our german shepherd was again in his element free to roam the fenced in grounds and chilling at our feet after a days outing . If you want peace and tranquility, as well as plenty of walking and sightseeing this is definetely the place to be . I could live here all year round and do feel a pang when we have to leave . Thanks again Bev for a fab stay in your out of this world cottage .
Excellent cottage with a warm welcome from Bev. Everything you could wish for in a cottage, cosy & comfortable with a log burning stove. Outside you can sit by the river. Unfortunately we didn't have the best of weather but having Plum Tree cottage to come back to made all the difference to our holiday.
This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Bev ( the owner) was waiting for us when we arrived and took us through the datails of the cottage and places to eat near by. The cottage is finished to the highest standard and the two showers are amazing. The bed is huge and very comfortable after a long day sight seeing and walking. Just sit in the garden and watch the world go by, in particular the wild life and the overlooked river which I think you can fish for salmon and trout when in season. The kitchen has all the mod cons and implements you will need to cook all your meals. We can't recommend this cottage enough.
This is an Immaculate, beautifully finished cottage for two with unexpected extras. We really appreciated the excellent welcome pack and treats. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The setting is superb, with a sunny garden and terrace and delightful views of the river below. Wish we could have stayed longer. Plum Tree Cottage deserves every accolade.
Stayed at Plum Tree Cottage over The long Easter Weekend. It was the best romantic getaway location you could wish for. Seriously relaxing, spotlessly clean, beautifully presented. Perfect location if you have a dog - but absolutely no hint that it is 'dog friendly' for those who do not want that. Staying in Plum Cottage will make you want to move in for good and leave your normal life behind.... peace, luxury, scenery, gorgeous kitchen, bathrooms, cosy sofa in front of the wood burner.... and yes, the bed is extremely comfortable.
Booked a three-night stay at Plum Tree Cottage. Our only regret is not booking for longer. Bev, the hostess, made us feel incredibly welcome, from the point of booking right through until the point we left. She honestly couldn't have done any more. As for the cottage ... it's simply perfect! It's location is wonderful - beautiful viewpoint of the Wear, secluded, walking distance to the pubs in Witton le Wear and the decor throughout the cottage is to an extremely high standard. Thanks again for the perfect few days - the ultimate retreat.
I booked this beautiful cottage because it was dog friendly and i take my dog (Alfie) everywhere with me and husband if we can. The cottage is so well equipped with everything you would need for a break away. Decorated and furnish to a high standard. stunning location. We spent the day at the coast which is about 45 minute drive away. Lovely local walks close to the cottage with a lovely clear River Wear right at the side of the cottage. Everything was perfect and not one negative about this special get away cottage. And Bev the owner is lovely and so friendly nothing is to much trouble... Just perfect.
