An old childhood memory lured us to this hotel, despite some unfavorable reviews. It was once one of the best hotels in Southport but is now rather tired & in good need of an overhaul & some serious cleaning (bathroom heater surround was so covered in dust it looked black). Also, the parking is hit & miss & their offer of a space in sister hotel at additional cost backfired as I asked them to check if a space was available before we made an additional journey. Guess what - no spaces. Really great after a 3 mile trip. There is also an additional cost to pay by card - not a lot so don`t know they they bother, it just creates angst (or be up front on the original booking).
Despite that - room was warm & adequate. Breakfast was good & the restaurant was buzzing but well ran (make sure you stock up on drinks as you may have a long wait for a refill). At just over £50 for 2 including breakfast, we felt we had a reasonable deal (hotel is in excellent central location). Cheaper than a motel & all staff were generally friendly & eager to please.

Room Tip: The higher the better - avoid restaurant side as generator is noisy once breakfast is being prepared...

staff could not care less kept awake till 4 o clock with music from night club below said they had no record of me booking even though i specifically rang up again to check that we were not getting a room on the side street as we had been put there on a previous visit and did not get a wink of sleep the evening meal was disgusting a supposedly carvery with a waitress scraping the dirty plates in a black plastic bag at the side of us nice left after one night checked into premier inn wonderful

Room Tip: Don't go... keep your money.

Came here for a 21st with my partner. first had to wait about 20 minutes at reception as there was only one receptionist and there was a huge que, but there were other staff just sat down behind. Came to our room which was the church town suite, but we had to guess as there was no number on the door. the outside smelt old and damp. Came into the room to see a biggish room but very very old deco. There was supposed to be a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates in the room upon arrival but there wasn't. We had to ask 3 times before it came to the room. The windows are very old and are only single glazing and wooden so they kept no heat in what's so ever. The curtains are dropping off at the top and do not shut properly. Hot water takes 10/15 minutes to come on in the bathroom. There is no documents in the room to say what time meals are etc. Also the hotel states there is a pool and health facilities which me and my partner were happy to go to but found out we had to pay even though we were guests! It didn't state this anywhere on the website, only found out when we got there which is right at the back of the hotel up and down a lot of stairs. We are a young couple so didn't think after reading the reviews it would be that bad but it's honestly awful. Also the rooms are freezing and I went to go ask about heating and they said it should be on, but it is next to the windows so all the heat would just go out straight away. Also we had a jacuzzi bath which we used but 2 knobs were not working, and when I got out there was all bits at the bottom of the bath what had come out of them which means they are never cleaned. Overall rubbish experience will never be coming here again!!!!

After reading the reviews i was prepared for the worst. Took my own sheets and towels just in case.On arrival there were limited parking spaces at the Scarisbrick but we parked easily at the sister hotel The Prince of Wales for a very reasonable price of £2 per day. On booking in reception staff were efficient, friendly and polite although it was quite busy. We were on the 3rd floor and the room was basic and dated but had everything you needed. We had a plentiful supply of hot water and clean towels and the sheets i took with us were not needed. The breakfast was 1st class and we didnt have to wait for a table. They had a great variety and choice and i can certainly recommend the porridge. The restaraunt staff couldnt do enough to help. There is a loud pub underneath but we were so tired it certainly didnt keep us awake. The beer prices were excellent £1.70 a pint and the location of the hotel couldnt be better. Step outside and the shops are there. We paid £80 for 2 nights for 2 people and i can only say we were surprised in a good way. I would certainly go again and would be especially keen to go after the refurbishment has been completed.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the quieter it is.

We have stopped here for 3 years on our anniversary. This year we had friends and family with us and had booked 5 rooms, 4 were for 1 night and ours was 2 nights sunday 11th nov and monday 12th nov. We were lucky with the limited parking and got spots for 4 cars easily. Booking in was a breeze as Jenny on reception was very helpful (as she had been in previous years) but on going too our rooms one was well below par even at £33 for a double b&b. The duty manager Paul came and within minutes had the problem more than sorted. The breakfast is very hot and plentiful served in very dated but clean surroundings by very helpful and cheery staff. The hotel is old and tired but the staff on all our visits have be anything but that, they have made our break. At times it is noisey but its in the middle of town so expected some noise. We will be back next year for sure thanks too the staff.
