The menu was quite restrictive and on the cheap side. A large sheet of paper/card which was large and cumbersome as you had details on both sides. The wine and beer selection was poor with only 5 reds to choose from and only one beer....Peroni. That said the food was very well presented and very tasty too. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. The setting was very nice with an upstairs open balcony type arrangement. A table at the edge of this level, overlooking the main restaurant would be very nice. The upstairs section was closed on my visit as it was quite quiet. A pleasant meal and I would certainly consider eating there again.

We went here because the food in the Britannia Prince of Wales was awful. This was nice and the food was really good too.

The staff are friendly and efficient and make you feel welcome. The food was well cooked and presented , but the portion sizes are a bit mean, when you pay over £10 for a main course you expect a plate fuller than they serve. The flavour of the ravioli was non existant, the fish filling could have been anything, chicken, lamb, beef or sausage you could not tell it was very bland. My wife had the penne pasta with chicken which was full of flavour and the dish was full .(plain pasta is cheaper than ravioli so you get more ) We sat near the fireplace and it was fairly comfortable, it can be quite cold in the conservatory area.

Been to this reastaurant a few times and although the food and service is good it is often so cold inside both in summer or winter that the experience is spoiled. We always think we'll give it another try, they're bound to have sorted the air con/heating system out by now but we are always disappointed. We mention this to staff who are aware of the problem but it seems to be beyond the capabilities of the service engineers. It's a shame really but enough's enough and sadly we won't be returning. For those hardier folk out there it is worth a visit, unusual interior, good food and not bad prices.
