Booked in by my bestest mate as a early birthday treat with the girlys. Lovely warm welcome by Lynn the owner, a light 3 course lunch, followed by facial, head, neck, shoulder, feet and leg treatment, which we all thoroughly enjoyed, Lynns staff were polite and curteous to us all, we never felt rushed in any way. A great day was had by all and booking in for our next all dayer. We all recomend a vist to The Portland Spar for a little Chilax Time.

From the minute we arrived on the carpark we were met by a hostile member of staff. The owner on the reception looked at us and told us we werent booked in and it was a young boys fault. Her attitude was bad and then said oh have you come far. We explained we had and also took the dayoff. We were told to wait in a waiting room and we would be served coffees Half an hour later we had to ask for coffees. We were then rushed and had our treatments and had no time to put on bathrobes! We then had carrot and coriander soup which was tasteless which we sent back. The girls doing the treatments were lovely but the owner needs to go on a people skills course. NEVER AGAIN. What should of been a relaxing day was a stressful day.

Visited Portland Hall Spa at the weekend for the mud experience, full body massage, facial and lunch. The treatments were beautiful and the staff were so welcoming and professional.
I will definitely return

Myself & 3 friends visited Sat. 15th June 2013 for a Groupon offer of a Hot Stone massage and facial. Long wait for 1st treatment as we were asked to come early, didn't really see why as we didn't get seen on time and then the manager seemed to have got our booking wrong and was not particularly helpful in explaining what was going to happen next.
Massages were great and treatment staff very nice but 2 of our party seemed to get shorter times in the treatment rooms than the other two. We all paid the same so why?
Really long wait between treatments and by this time lots of other clients were complaining aswell. there was a constant trail of people going to the Reception desk to ask what was happening. At one point there was hardly any room to sit as so full.
The therapists seemed oblivious to the chaos going on downstairs in the lounge/waiting room.
I have friends who have been here before and have really enjoyed it so something is going terribly wrong with the organisation.
I wouldn't take a chance with them again - Once bitten etc.........

My friend and I went to this spa due to a Groupon deal- we thought a relxation afternoon would be a great way to relieve her of wedding organising stress.

I emailed them beforehand to try and book an appointment, but got no reply. So i called them- we were booked in, but the receptionist wasn't very friendly.

On the day, we arrived at 11.45am (booked in at 12), were given forms and then waited 45 mins before we were taken into the consultation room. We were meant to be given a welcome drink- but ended up having to ask for it.

The therapists were very friendly and the massages lovely, i'll give them that. After our treatment, we had our included ‘light lunch’ which we understood to be a choice of soup or cheesecake. We ended up with tiny pieces of chococlate cake, which were stale, most unimpressed. And a glass of tap water- because apprantly, 'lunch' doesn't include even a cup of coffee and we had already locked our bags with money in away.

We left the building at about 1.45pm. This means that consultation, all 3 treatments, our lunch and getting changed only took just over an hour- so we certainly didn’t get the 2 hours spa time we were supposed to get.

We found the reception staff not very forthcoming with information, not on the ball at all with regards to making sure we were ok and were disappointed in the quality of the ‘light lunch’ and length of the treatments.

I wouldn't reccomend this place at all. Although the massages were good- and the price we paid was also great- the fact that we paid less, certainly shouldn't of meant we received any worse of a service, so if that's how they treat their full paying customers to, I feel very sorry for those who have wasted their money.

Great massages- shame about the rest.
